chance me and ill chance back?

live4physicz: operationsmile.org/isce (this is the conference in beijing!) I think its full but there’s a waiting list, GET ON IT!! I signed up for Denver reaaally late and got in cause a couple people dropped out, then you can go on a mission your senior year!

collegegurl-you absolutely have a chance, you need to have a REALLY strong essay and just bring that gpa up. colleges LOVE an upward trend in grades, and if they see you’re doing well now you’ll be in great shape  most colleges don’t even look at your freshman grades so if that’s what’s bogging your gpa down then don’t worry :)

sorry! just realized there were more posts lol
daem0n-yes im a girl  engineerings on my list, I love every subject in school though, so it’s really hard to decide what kind of field I want go get into… so hypothetically speaking, if i were to raise my SATs 2200+, what else is my app lacking? what should I work on?

roxi-you are very well rounded! uic’s acceptance rate is in the 60’s right? I think you have a good shot, work on keeping your sat/act scores up in the mid-high 20’s. and your gpa really isn’t that low!! you’re taking challenging courses, which matters more than taking easy courses with a 4.0. work on keeping it up, i really think you can get in :)

I emailed them! I really really really really really really really hope I get in! Ahhhh do you think there’s a good chance people will drop out!?!? Dude thanks so much for this!!!:)

Hi, I’m 15 years old and am currently a junior. I have a 3.5 gpa and took the ACT for practice/just to see how it’d go with no prep in December and got a 25 (( I am retaking it again and hope to get a 28-30 hopefully! I am Junior Class President, heavily involved in Student Council, Part of NHS-going to be an officer next year, actively involved in Key Club and voleenteer countless hours. I am also an active voleenteer in my church. I was selected for leadership in my states’s conference. I have taken challenging classes my whole high school career and took 2 AP Classes this year and am taken 4 next year. I also job shadow my dentist. I want to be a dentist or an oral surgeon and am applying for UIC this June early admission. Do you think I can get in with my current stats? I am praying so because it is the only school that tuition is reasonable and yet offers a strong medical field. I have also been on varsity tennis for 3 years and varsity track for 3 years. I hope to appear well rounded. Thank you for reading this and taking the time to answer, I appreciate it very much as I come from a middle-class family and do not have many options for college due to my low gpa and only a couple schools offer pre-dental in Illinois and their tuition is well out of my range. Thanks once again!

liv-i hope you can come!!! its such an awesome opportunity… i’m honestly not sure, lets keep our fingers crossed!!

Your SAT and ACT scores were by far the weakest part of your app. There’s not much else that you can do at this point, except maybe try and get some academic awards. I don’t see any in your OP.

Chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1120270-preemptive-chance.html

-Princeton
-Dartmouth
-UPenn
-Harvard
-Cornell
-Drew
-Rutgers
-Lehigh

SAT scores are the weakest part, if you bump up to 2300+ you have a good shot at all the schools mentioned above. However with Harvard, Penn, Dartmouth and Princeton its hard to say anyways. Cornell has the highest admissions rate of all the Ivy leagues so there you go. If you write an interesting supplement and common app essay to “WOW” the admissions offices, you will boost your chances significantly which is obvious.
