Chance me and I'll chance back!!!

Incoming California senior with a weighted GPA of 3.5 (yes I know, it's low) a UC GPA of 3.42 (due to a bad sophomore year). I had a GPA of 3.1 sophomore year and a GPA of 4.15 junior year. SAT score is an 1820 (640 cr, 630 m, 550 w(I plan on retaking)). My extracurricular list isn't the best but it's not too shabby; I've been in band since 5th grade and I've been the best in my county all of high school at my instrument (I mainly play euphonium but I can play any other brass instrument fairly well). Throughout high school I have participated in track, ASB, and Link Crew. Sophomore year I volunteered at the Boys & Girls club and for the past 2 years I have been a tutor at a CSUB (and now UCLA I believe) funded summer algebra institute (which means that I have been employed by a California university). The schools that I want to go to follow:
UC Santa Cruz (where I really want to go)
San Francisco State (more of a safety for me but I still like it so second choice)
San Jose State (an extreme safety for me)
CSU Long Beach (I like the area)

So please chance me and I will chance you right back.

Please someone help:/
PS: I forgot to mention that sophomore year I went through multiple ear surgeries because I had lost a vast percent of hearing in one of my ears. According to some people, showing how I dealt with challenges such as this in school can increase my chances of acceptance. I also plan on pulling the “race card” in my admissions essay since I’m an African-American male (even though I know UCs can’t take race into account but it’s worth a shot" and I’m going to talk about how throughout high school I’ve had to deal with a stereotype held over my head (especially in the community I live in) and how I’ve worked to break common stereotypes first by focusing on my education and second by educating young African-American children through my tutoring of them. Any advice with that?

Please just chance me!:/

Dude your set, just don’t be down if you dont get into upenn, harvard etc… You never know though :)

In terms of the schools you want to go to, I’m sure you’ll get into every single one
