thanks~

Yay a fellow Georgetown hopeful! I think you have a wonderful chance at the school  Awesome grades, decent test scores and solid ECs.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537549-chance-rising-senior-please.html Thanks so much!

I think what is awesome is your 11 APs, schools love to see that challenge in kids. Your ACT seems fine for Georgetown, but it would’t hurt to take it once more in Sept and maybe focus on one section really hard since you’ll be super scoring. Best of luck!

I think you have a decent chance of getting in! Maybe retaking the ACT would not be a bad idea. You have a rigorous courseload. 11 APs would definitely show that you are qualified for high level courses. Good luck!

Georgetown SFS: Reach

Maybe GWU or another Catholic school could be used for a match/safety…

I’m pretty sure you have an above average chance at this school. Strong academics and e.c.'s. I think you’re ACT is fine for this school though, so it’s up to you if you want to retake or not. Good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537738-my-one-only-chance-thread-need-advice-will-chance-back-penn-ed-hyp-etc.html

thank you!!

Very impressive. Your Academics and EC’s are both very strong. Your ACT is very solid, and they’ll accept that score. I don’t think you’ll have any big problems with getting in at all, but it would still be a good idea to apply for “backup” colleges in case this one falls through. You never want to get your hopes up, only to see them burn down, without having a backup plan in order.

Can you please chance mine? Thank you so much, and good luck to you.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537770-what-my-chances.html

does anyone know how much more difficult it is to enter into the SFS than just Georgetown College?

I think that youll definitely get in. You may want to increase your ACT to ensure your admission. but it isnt a big deal if you dont.
chance back please!!!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537955-financial-aid.html

I would say low reach. Unfocused ECs and average ACT (for GTown) is what makes it a low reach. You have a great chance at a school which accepts 18%.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1525734-chance-me-umiami-any-merit-aid-will-chance-back-4.html#post16222830

what do you mean by unfocused?

He means that your ECs don’t demonstrate a clear passion for something, and that they’re all over the place.

@bailey27 you could do better than Georgetown seriously try Harvard like I am being serious they already know your name from that award and try Dartmouth it is a lot eager out of all ivies to get in my cousin got in 2130 a 32 act=2200 so good chance try notre dame or unc even uchicago you have similar scores as long as your reading math and science and others are in 30+ then the schools yes if not try nyu or bu and bc reply to my at
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537596-chance-senior-top-tier-schools-ill-chance-you-back-2.html
135pipe is my name

Also I don’t know how you feel about texas but ut Austin oos will take you even tamu immediately and they are really known in the USA so try those those are matches Baylor depending on your major will give you losts d of money

Hmm I would say it is a reach honestly. You don’t quite have anything that stands out in terms of ECs, so it will probably come down to how you come across on paper / why you want to go to Georgetown. Higher ACT score could help as well.
Good Luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1541601-ed-brown-chances.html

I’d say a low reach. Your ACT is average for Georgetown. Courseload/GPA is impressive. Do well on the essays and you have a good shot.

The college actually has a lower acceptance rate than the SFS but we could debate all day about whether the matters considering the different demographics of students who are applying.

I’d say that the college and SFS are equally hard to get into. But that’s just my perspective.

(I spent my freshman year at Georgetown if that means anything.)

Feel free to message me if you have any questions about student life, academics, or anything else really. I had a couple friends in the SFS so if you had any school specific questions I might be able to help with those too.

By your EC’s you seem to be a decent fit for GeorgeTown. Only thing Lit subject test, but everything else seems good. I would say low reach/high match

Chance me please!
