Colleges of Interest:

American University
Brandeis University
George Washington University
College of William & Mary
University of Richmond
University of Virginia
Vanderbilt University
Villanova University
Wake Forest University
Lehigh University
Northeastern University (my top choice right now)*****

UVA and Vanderbilt are definitely reaches for you and although you have a solid GPA and good scores, your extracurriculars are nothing special. You do have a lot of community service which is good and you are above average for Northeastern but I would still say that it is a mid reach for you.

Your unweighted GPA is really impressive and your test scores equally so, they almost mirror the breakdown of scores I had when I applied to schools. Anyhow, you have very focused extracurriculars and have a nice choice of schools (Alas, I considered many of the same school when applying) It is a nice, balanced list and you will likely receive some sort of merit at American, Northeastern, or Richmond, but I think it is important for you to add a financial safety such as your state flagship as a guaranteed college you know is affordable.

Last but not least, Vanderbilt would probably be a reach as it is for most people. But I’d consider you as a low reach/high match for schools like UVA and William and Mary (although you should know it can be harder to get in as an out of stater). Most of the other schools I don’t imagine you’d have a problem getting in.

Good luck with your college search and admissions! I notice you have three of my favorite schools on there: Brandeis, W&M, and Northeastern! I currently attend William and Mary, so if you have any questions feel free to send them my way.
