<p>I never thought I would end up posting one of these but here it goes:</p>

<p>chances at : UVA, UNC, William and Mary, Davidson, University of Richmond
White
Female
GPA: school has numerical scale... weighted 99/100 (have only gotten one b)
Class Rigor: very rigorous course schedule- progressively harder through the years... by the time i graduate 10 aps (taking 7 this year)
rank: 12/ 570 or so... very competitive school, lots of grads to top schools
Scores: 31 ACT
SAT: CR:690 M: 620 (i know awful) W: 710
SAT Subject Tests: US History: 800, Lit: 680 Spanish: 640
AP Scores: AP World: 5, AP US: 5, AP Lang: 5</p>

<p>EC's:
Varsity Cross Country and Track all four years... 4 year letterman, 2 time Cross Country MVP, Track MVP, 2010 track captain, 2007 track manager, school record holder 5000 m and 3200 m<br>
Beta Club: All four years
Student council, 10,11,12 VP junior year, elections and qualifying committee chair this year
National Spanish Honor Society: 11,12 President this year
National Honor Society, 11, 12
Literary Magazine- 10, 11</p>

<p>Community Service- most of my clubs are service oriented, so alot of service through working with charities etc
tutoring- 1 hour every week for my sophomore, junior, and senior years i have tutored struggling first graders in reading... tons of hours that way... wrote essays about this</p>

<p>Awards/ recognitions:
AP Scholar
Georgia Certificate of Merit
6th in State 3200 m 2009
5th in senior girls race SE regional 2009
National Spanish Essay Competition superior ranking
Girl's State
random school awards like "most outstanding 9th grade lit student etc."</p>

<p>Essays: Writing is my strong point so hopefully good
Recs: counselor: maybe slightly impersonal (I go to a big school), but I think she likes me
Teacher recs: awesome </p>

<p>Possible Hook-
I can definitely on to cross country teams like Davidson and Richmond, but the big ACC schools, (UNC and UVA) pending track season I might be able to run there... I'm not good enough to get recruited, but If I'm good enough to participate athletically/ have been corresponding with coaches will that help at all???</p>

<p>I know UVA and UNC are definitely reaches with the whole white female OOS and lower end scores... but do i have a shot?</p>

<p>UVA - low reach
UNC - high reach, as it is for all out of staters. Anyone who says it is a match doesn’t know that only 18% of the people that UNC accepts is allowed to be from OOS, which puts it at a 5 or 6% acceptance rate, match.
William and Mary - match
Davidson - match
U Richmond - safety</p>
