<p>Applying to the following RD (CompSci/Engineering):
Brown, Columbia, UChicago, Duke, Tufts, Michigan, Northwestern, JHU, BU, CMU, Illinois, NYU, and Umass (in-state)</p>

<p>GPA: 3.81 UW, 4.5 W(not reported though)
Rank: 45/350 --> this is unweighted, no weight AT ALL to APs and Honors classes, I've took the hardest course load and all that. My school is competitive, 15-25 students to Ivies/T-20 schools each year out of ~350 students
SAT: 2290 (780M, 760CR, 750W)
SAT II: 800 Math 2 and Physics</p>

<p>Alright, with ECs I won't go into much detail, but basically I'm interest in robotics. I've spent the last two years at a university lab doing research related to robotics/CS(bulk of my time outside of school, lol). I've been published, how much does that help? Some ECs as well, such sports, clubs, but robotics has been the main focus.</p>

<p>Okay, here’s how I see it:

  • You’re into UMass, Illinois, NYU, BU, and Michigan easily.
  • Duke, Tufts, NW, JHU, and CMU all seem to be matches for you :slight_smile:
  • The Ivies and UChicago are pretty unpredictable. It’s really a luck of the draw kind of deal, but for Chicago really write good essays. </p>

<p>From what you’ve told us, I think you’ll get into UChicago, Brown, Duke, BU, Illinois, and Umass, with like a 75% chance. The rest of them you also have a good chance at. I think your strength is demonstrating your serious passion for robotics and engineering. I feel like the schools that take it most seriously will accept you most readily. You’ll get lucky if the admissions officer is interested in that stuff too! But congrats on the SAT II. You have a great shot!</p>

<p>I agree with @theNDhopeful44. In my opinion, you have a great shot at getting into Duke University, BU, and NYU! Ivy League, as previously mentioned, are indeed highly capricious.
