I have a feeling that Duke is going to be a big reach for me, considering my generic ECs. Thanks for any thoughts on this! Also, could you chance me for Michigan, Emory, Carnegie Mellon, and Rice too?

id say duke-mid reach
no SAT I?
Michigan-match
Emory-low reach
Carnegie Mellon-low match
Rice-low reach

Your EC’s aren’t weak by any stretch. It looks to me that you spent a lot of time pursuing something you enjoy, which is in fact better than having a laundry list of EC’s with lower time commitments. Your stats are right where they need to be as well. However, Duke is a reach for almost everyone, but you stand just as good of a shot as anyone else. Good luck man, and be sure to let us know how it turns out.

Duke - Reach
Michigan - Match
Emory - Low Reach
CMU - Low Reach/High Match
Rice - Low Reach

@EllexInc, the SAT I isn’t required if you submit the ACT. In fact, Duke SAT II’s are only required with the SAT I. The ACT w/ Writing can be used in lieu of both SAT’s. From their website: “Students must take either the three-part SAT and two SAT Subject Tests, or the ACT including the writing exam.”
