I have a feeling that Rice is going to be a big reach for me, considering my generic ECs. Thanks for any thoughts on this! Also, could you chance me for Michigan, Emory, Carnegie Mellon, and Duke too?

Couple of things - if you need someone to chance you, then how will you be able to chance someone else? Sorry, just a pet peeve. I never understood this.

That aside, your stats do look good. I wouldn’t say that Rice is a reach. Rice is hard to get into, but your stats do put you in range to get in (good GPA, class rank and standardized tests)

Good Luck!

also, are you from Texas?

He states he is from Colorado.

Your resume look pretty good for out of state applicant saganie. Rice is small, so nothing is to be taken for granted. But being oos with those stats will distinguish you well from all the top applicants from Texas (all of whom, it seems, apply to Rice…lol).

My son has similar stats (ACT C: 34, M:36; SAT ML2 800, Bio 750), some leadership and hundreds of hours devoted to drumline and classical percussion. But he is a native Houstonian, so we consider Rice his biggest reach school.

You’ll be alright :)
