Yale, Princeton, and Harvard-- Reach (They are for everyone) But I do think you have as good of a shot as anyone.
Duke-- High Match
UVA-- Low Match
Georgetown-- Match

Johns Hopkins Since u mentioned international relations has a 5 year BA/Masters degree program in International Relations… and is ranked number 1 i think due to their amazing internship programs offered abroad within the program (which ive heard lot of students take advantage of)… just another school you should consider… they are a very good school…

Dear Lima_Bean,

WOW! Quite Speechless - Just reading your credentials and academics, I feel like curling up in a corner in shame…

You have solid Academics and a rigorous course that I’m sure no college will overlook. Having said that, be wary of over-loaded work. I say that not to challenge your academic capabilities, but the scope of content. I know a couple of close friends that scored 5’s on 6-8 APs but were not accepted to colleges of their choice with equally impressive academics and extracurriculars.

Where are you located and what is your school’s background and statistics on College Acceptances?

Amazing Extracurriculars! Your leadership and commitment speaks for itself. I would recommend highlighting key aspects/issues that you really feel like they express your interest and passion. There’s alot going on with Debate-English / Science / Business…

Hone your interests and ask yourself “Did I do FBLA BUSLaw because of international relations or because of interest in law?” Etc. I’m sure you can articulate your reasoning much better than I can =)

Yale and Princeton I would be confident that you are accepted. Harvard and Duke uses an admissions formula of your favorite color, the best ice cream in the world, and how many strands of hair you have. Nobody knows what they’re thinking!

Have you considered NYU or Columbia in New York City. Their Law schools are quite reknowned - not to mention the number of alumni that go on to start their practice right in the city!

Good Luck,

PS. I applaud you for your FBLA awards. I personally could not stand the structure and lack of freedom they had!!!

Hope you can Help: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/517965-chance-me-wharton-upenn.html

Hey amicone, I have never heard of any of those schools and I am not to familiar with college transfers, but I’m sure having the professor’s letter will really help.

Thanks!!

Just a question, you said “I think you have pretty good chances for some of those schools”. I was just wondering which ones in particular you don’t think I have a good chance for.

Thanks again!

hey orange, I think GW and Emory are pretty tough schools, and not just for you but for anyone. Again, you probably want to get a second opinion because I’m not too familiar with them. Still, I think you do have a chance, so if you like the schools, definitely apply.

HYP: maybe in except for the fact that you’re Asian. Sucks but that’s the way it is.

Duke, UVA, Georgetown: In for sure.

NOW CHANCE ME lol…http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/515927-college-hopeful-new-improved-stats.html

lima bean i wish i was you!! haha i think you would have a great shot at any of the schools you are interested in, however, i hear the ivies admissions process is one major crap shoot but you will do fine! you should look at northwestern. it is an awesome campus in a really nice area and it is like 15 mins from chicago. you would most definitely get in and you may even get some scholarships. good luck!! what do you think of me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/515915-chance-chicagoan-getting-out-illinois.html

woww. I think you definitely have a chance of getting into one of the hyp’s.
you have amazing test scores and so many extracurriculars. and interesting extracurriculars too, not just those boring ones that everyone does over the summer. and judging from your interest in law, you should definitely try going for yale. and GOOD LUCK!!

The lower ones are almost guarantees.

Harvard, Yale and Princeton are slight reach, as they are for everyone, but you are by no means in a bad condition. Besides the fact, of course, that you are Asian Just make sure you don’t bomb the SAT IIs and you should be in good shape.

[Here is my thread, when you get the chance.](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/517529-please-chance-me.html)

bump bump

Have you given any consideration to Tufts?

Nope, I haven’t. I actually don’t know too much about the schools besides the “tufts syndrome,” lol.

b um p

I think you will get in2 all of them. I only have 2 APs, because that is all my school offers, the rest of my classes were honors or college credit. Please chance me on my post called I’ll return the favor. THANKS!! Congrats on your good scores!!

I’m not good at chancing, but here are my thoughts:

Your scores/courseload are impressive! That 225 PSAT will hopefully bring you good news in September and your 2310 is probably making people so envious of you =) Your volunteering, awards, everything makes you seem a well-rounded student.

Unfortunately: being Asian doesn’t help. It’s almost come to a point where Asians are expected to have all those credentials. So, HYP should always be considered reaches, and it’s good to have safeties. When you write your essays, make sure you let those admissions people know how you stand out from all those other high achievers - that Uganda thing comes to mind!

And, as for the awards list…although all the awards are marks of your hard work, including all the school-wide things might not be the best idea. It might be better just to include State/National awards when you apply.

Hope this helps; I’m waiting for people to chance me too so I’m in no position to tell you where you’ll get in! But here’s my thread:
