So can u guys please, pretty please chance me for the colleges i listed or suggest some colleges/ improvements for me? I really appreciate it..thanks sooooooooo much :)

Just as a heads up for what you said about your essay: approximately 20% of ALL 2009 applicants are planning on writing/have written on an oversees experiences EXACTLY the way you described it. My advice is, unless you can make it REALLY personal, don't do that topic.

ya..good pt..i was thinking about writing on global poverty and how it was so devestating (sp?) there. but u do have a good point, i have time..i should consider other options..thanks :)

1st bump of the day!! :)

did u do anything specifically in this country u visited, or did u just go for vacationing?

Why do you think Cornell is unlikely? Your GPA is perfect with a very challenging course load, you have decent ECs (maybe get a leadership position or two next year? Just show passion), and your ACT will definitely go up after a bit more studying (though by no means is it bad right now... I'm just saying it's only January of junior year so you have time). Also, this is a really stupid question, but are you not taking English senior year? I suppose Humanities H might include or be your English credit, but I thought most colleges require 4 years of English. Anyway, I think you have a good shot to be competitive at Cornell and can even go for other Ivies/top colleges. Don't be so modest! Haha

Also I agree with those who said your potential essay topic might be a little clich

thanks u guys..u guys are giving me great advice. humanities is my english credit. ya im not sure about my essay yet. im taking the act again feburary, april, and the june. don't wanna worry about it senior year..hehe..hopefully itll improve a bit.

buuuuummmmmpppppppp! bump!

bumpy.....

Your ACT should go up, but I wouldn't take it so many times, two, maybe three should be the maximum if you already have a good score. Anyways, your rank and GPA look very good for those schools, a few leadership positions/positions that show passion will definitely help you here. Finally, a less generic essay topic will raise your chances considerably. If you can write a good one that will make you stand out, as well as bring your ACT up and get good grades on your SAT IIs, then you will be just fine for those schools and those that are on a higher "tier," so to speak (Ivies and the such.)

keep doing what your doing, maybe bump ACT to 33 and you have no worries
