Chance me and I'll return the favor :)

I've done a few of these before, but I'm updating information. This is basically what I'm putting in my apps. If you want to get chanced back, please add a link so I can find your thread more easily.

Essays/Recs/Interview: I hope they're good

I'm a Chinese Male

The Colleges I'm thinking about
Yale SCEA
JHU
Brown
UMich
Harvard
Princeton
UCLA
Upenn
Columbia
Tufts
Rutgers

Thanks :)

I don’t think you’ll have a problem getting into most of these schools… of course any Ivy can be a crap shoot but if your essays are good you’ll probably have excellent chances. Chance back if you don’t mind? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1539137-chance-me-cornell.html

Your application is pretty much flawless. Impressive GPA. Near perfect SAT scores. Awesome ECs. Obviously you know that most of the schools you have on your list, especially Ivies, are complete crapshoots. I do think, however, you have a good chance of getting into at least one or two of the Ivies.

Here are my thoughts:

Yale SCEA - reach
JHU - low reach/high match
Brown - reach
UMich - low match
Harvard - reach
Princeton - reach
UCLA - match
Upenn - reach
Columbia - reach
Tufts - high/mid match
Rutgers- safety

Good luck!

Chance me back please? Thanks! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1527858-chance-me-harvard-yale-etc-will-chance-back-2.html

i dont see you getting denied anywhere, but you never know with the ivies. im pretty ceratin you will get into yale SCEA. good luck!

chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1537209-chance-me-i-will-chance-back.html

Thanks guys!
littlewriter- I’ll be working on writing, editing and rewriting essays the rest of summer, so hopefully they’ll be some of my better work

jisaacs- I really hope SCEA works out, so I don’t need to worry about midterms

Your scores and EC are flawless, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting into most of the colleges, especially Tufts. Just out of curiosity, what are you planning on majoring in in college?
Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=1539218

i don’t think you’ll have an issue with admissions, but you never know. So, apply, and good luck.

Fantastic Job, Great Stats!!

Reach - Harvard, Princeton, Yale
Target - Brown, Upenn, Columbia,
Safety- JHU, UMich, Tufts,
No Chance of Rejection - Rutgers

Good Luck!!

Your stats are definitely up there with the top candidates for each school, though of course be aware that chances at any Ivy whatsoever are ALWAYS a crapshoot, regardless of whether you got perfect scores on everything or not. It’s just the way it is. So here is what I think:

Yale: Reach
JHU: High Match
Brown: Reach
UMich: Low Match/Safety
Harvard: Reach
Princeton: Reach
UCLA: Low Match
Upenn: Low Reach
Columbia: Reach
Tufts: Match
Rutgers: Safety

Best of luck!

whisper12: you seem like a very strong applicant. You have a stellar academic record and very strong EC’s as well. But I agree with everyone who has already said that the Ivies can be unpredictable.

Javacompsci: I’m not very knowledgable about the UC schools, so I can’t comment on your academic record, but I know that they look favorably upon people who live in California (I’m assuming you live in California) and on minorities, so those aspects will certainly help you.

If anyone would care to chance me, it would be much appreciated :)

sinesquaredx thanks for your opinion

Yale, Princeton might prove to be challenging. The program at Cornell will help you. The rest are accepted for sure. I would be surprised if not. But, as I had, the ivies are a flip of a coin for everyone.
