I would say its a definite reach. I can’t exactly find ACT statistics on Duke, but I would say a 30 is definitely on the low side (your score converts to about a 2010 on the SAT). Your other statistic seem fine, but you have no real hook. I would not bank on getting in. Best of luck!

Well, he’s got the music thing, but it is a reach. Here’s the profile of the current freshman class. An ACT of 30 is the 25% percentile (for Trinity).

[Duke University Admissions: Class of 2010 Profile](http://admissions.duke.edu/jump/applying/who_2010profile.html)

It is probably a little lower than the 25th percentile when you factor in hooked and URM applicants. Your uw and w GPA and music EC/awards are nice. Hopefully, coming from WA state may help your chances a tiny bit…

Your test scores and GPA will hold you back, especially when in the EA pool (consists of stronger, more capable applicants).

And your extracurriculars make you seem really spread thin. The only thing I can really see that makes you “stand out” is your music; not sure if you should include awards from middle school (those aren’t seen as very… professional).

Definitely a reach, so good luck.

Not really liking your chances to be honest, but it’s possible.

High-Reach for an ORM with low SAT scores and non-stellar ECs
