Chance me:Andover,hotchkiss,sps, and hill

Hi everyone I feel a bit anxious for my boarding school admissions chance and wanted to hear the input of others. I know not every piece of feedback will be completely valid, but it's nice to have other opinions. Anyways, here goes:
-applying for 10th grade
-A student
-attended andover's summer session 2012
-3 honors classes
-percussion and piano
-basketball(co-captain) and track
-I believe I received good recommendations but there's no way to be sure
-SSAT : 75% I was not pleased with this score so I retook it on dec 8 on account of the fact that I became sick during the middle of my first SSAT test(still waiting for dec 8th results)
-my own foundation called Maya On A Mission(donated 600+ towels to homeless shelter for women and children and am currently partnered with ULICAF to help kids in Liberia get education and clothing)
-one big thing is I am applying for FA so that will put me in a more competitive pool of applicants
I would really love some outside input as I know that these schools are all extremely selective and have very qualified and outstanding students applying so I would love to know where I stand. Thanks for the help!

You have an extremely good chance of entering these schools , Don’t worry about financial aid when it comes to Andover because they don’t look at that mainly, when deciding admission for applicants. You may want to add one or two safety schools if you’re serious with being admitted to a boarding school in general. You may have a harder time getting in because your applying for 10th grade but other than that you’ll be fine. Good luck !

@endthestars Well I had put Hill as my safety school because I was originally not considering it however after my interviewer pushed me to apply I considered it. Do you not consider hill a “safety school”. When you say I may have harder time getting in since I’m applying for 10th grade, what do you mean?

For most students, I would say no but you actually meet all the requirements for the Hill school pretty nicely (The average ssat score is 79% so you’re ok and the admission’s rate is 35%). Did you go on your interview yet ? If so, did it go well ? As for the 10th grade topic, the largest admitted rate is in the 9th grade pool and then the 10th grade but a lot of schools except 10th grade applicants anyway so that’s why I said you’ll be fine.

I had my Hill interview about a month ago and I think it went really well. But I haven’t had my hotchkiss or st.paul interview and those won’t come until the beginning of January. What about you are you applying to hill or any of the other schools mentioned?

Okay that’s good, I’m actually having most of my interviews in January as well. I am applying to all of the schools you mentioned except for the Hill, trust me I have a LOT of school selections (Up to 12 schools) so that’s why I cant apply to anymore (The Hill) . I may go into overload !

That must be a lot of traveling! And essays! Good luck with all of those I don’t know how you’ve handled it so far, I know I would be exhausted
