Chance me, Any responses are very appreciated!

OOS applying for lsa and early admission to Ross.

GPA: 3.7
School: Very rigorous college prep school. Uses the grading scale where 92% is a B+. No weighting.
Courses: All honors and accelerated. AP Micro/Macro, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Spanish, AP English, AP Psychology.
ACT: 33C, 36E, 33R, 32M, 29S.
Extra Curriculars: 4 years on the golf team, 3 years in Mode UN, 3 years in the math club, a ton of service work including a mission trip to guatemala and starting a charity project for a local grade school.
Essays and Recs: They should all be pretty goof because I spent a ton of time on them and have a good relationship with my teachers.

Thanks!

@lapcej22 It looks like you have a pretty good chance as of now. Did you apply for Early Action? If so you would have even a better chance.

I did apply early action. Thanks for your input! Do you know when Michigan typically sends out the first round of decisions? @vvfor3

@lapcej22 For early action they will be releasing the decisions on Dec 24th. Did you receive an email saying you qualified for early action?

EA will likely have decisions on 12/18. If you have showed fantastic interest and have some hook such as legacy your chances improve; else you may deal with deferral. If so, don’t fret, keep showing interest and you’ll have a good chance.

Typically, the Friday a week before Christmas would have the first batch of announcement.

Ross is very competitive. ACT looks great, GPA is a little weak, but it’s a solid transcript. I think the substantial charity work will be well received. I’d put your chances at fair to good.

OP. Your ACT is above average while your GPA is below. Course rigor is fine. UMich LSA would be a low reach as GPA is more important and you are from OOS (admission rate is only 20% this year). Ross pre-admit is always a reach due to low admission rate.

I wouldn’t worry about your GPA assuming that given your schools grading it’s relatively high. Most school reports give ennough data for universities to be able to put GPA in the context of your school even with schools that don’t rank. Schools with a 92 as a B+ typically have lower average GPAs. Schools like Michigan are well aware of that.

How is your class rank? It would be an indirect indicator of the grade distribution at your school.
