Will have amazing rec letters and a competitive architecture portfolio

What do you think?
Thanks.

grades aren’t as important for architecture admissions at CMU, and I had about the same stats as you (actually a bit lower) and I got in. If you have a fantastic portfolio, demonstrate your passion for architecture, get good recs, and take good time perfecting the architecture questionnaire CMU has you do, you’re most likely in. You’re a competitive candidate.

make sure you DON’T include CAD drafting in your portfolio! also, the items in your portfolio don’t have to have any relation to architecture at all, so just put in your best artwork. the portfolio is one of the most important things in the admissions process!

If you end up attending, I’ll see you on campus sometime! :)

Thanks jessnic!

What types of art did you include?
It says some photography on the website, did you do any of that?

Thanks.

I included a few still lifes, a self portrait, a few freehand drawings, some watercolor, some charcoal, and only two photographs (mostly because I was running out of time but I guess they liked them! haha).

you’ll only have to submit 10 pieces (no more, no less) unless they change that next year. (have 12 ready just in case!)
