Chance me (architecture)

F, Asian, no hooks.
I want to major in architecture.

School: Highly competitive public school in TX
UW GPA: 3.90 (4.29 weighted)
Rank: top 7.5%
PSAT: 235 give or take a couple points (I forget the exact number)
SAT: 2300 (760 CR, 740 math, 800 writing)
SAT IIs: 800 math II, 650 physics (hope to take more and retake physics)

APs: Lit (5), U.S. History (5), Euro (5), Calc BC (4), Spanish Lang (4). Will take macro/ micro, eng. language, chem this year.
IBs: Physics SL, Math HL, Chem SL, Eng. HL, 20th c. World Area Studies HL, Econ SL (IB Diploma candidate, don't have access to the scores from last year until school starts)

ECs: Piano for 12 years, got my grade 8 ABRSM diploma. Counselor at overnight camp for children with disabilities. Shelved books at my library (volunteer). Volunteered at the local food bank. My main EC (around 300-400 hours)= helping out at church in various areas: most is as the worship leader/ coordinator for church's youth group (lot of planning and weekly responsibilities, training people, etc). Others: VBS, assistant to art teacher for summer program for kids at church. Not involved in much at school: NHS, of course; Nat. Spanish Honor Society, Badminton Club VP. I hope my other ECs can make up for my lack of involvement in school clubs.

Arch related classes I've taken: 2 yrs physics, 2 years arch, 4 years art at school. I'm still working on my portfolio, but I believe it should be varied and good when I am finished.
I'm also fairly certain I can get good rec letters and write killer essays.

Chance me for: Cornell, Rice, Syracuse, UT Austin (arch preferred)?
My safeties are A&M and UT Dallas.
My first choice is UT Austin because of proximity and cost, but I am not auto admit.

Thank you!

cornell and rice at matches
syracuse and ut austin are safeties

Thank you for your help!
Can anyone confirm?

Another thing I should mention- UT doesn’t look at portfolios for undergrad admin, but I believe the other three do or it is highly recommended that I submit one.

Cornell: Reach
Rice: Reach
Syracuse: Low match (portfolio pending)
UT-Austin: Low match/Match
UT Dallas: Safety
TAMU: Safety

Perhaps you should look at Tulane with five years’ worth of merit aid… since majoring in architecture means you stay five years in college and graduate with a MArch. Plus it is a place where Asians are not as disadvantaged as at Cornell or Rice.

I only ended up applying to three schools: UT Austin, UT Arlington, and Iowa State. Iowa State is giving me 50k in merit aid, and I will get full tuition from UT Arlington. It’s likely I will not get any from UT Austin- although I really want to go there (but not accepted yet) and I am able to financially, the other two offers look extremely tempting right now. Any advice?

Texas and Syracuse really good chance. You never no about rice and cornell. Do you know around what date UTexas starts notifying acceptances

Some of my friends have gotten in (mostly cockrell kids, actually), but remember we are all in-state. They seem to send out acceptances in waves. I’m not sure if OOS kids get notified later, maybe that would be a good thread to start in the UT part of CC.
