Hi!!
I’m gonna get straight to the point. ASU is one of my top choices right now due to the scholarships I’ve already received, the research opportunities, etc.
I’ve been admitted for Biological Sciences (Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior), while being awarded the Provost’s scholarship of $14,500/yr.
I applying for the honors college (barrett); here are my stats.
GPA: 3.4(UW) 3.82 (W)
SAT: 1170
EC’s: a good amount, over 300+ in volunteer work
Recommendations: got them from my Principal and chemistry teacher
OOS
its too late for me to apply for the early/regular decision. i’m applying for the late conideration :((
is it hopeful?
Your SAT score is probably too low for Barrett Honor’s College as is your GPA. But, I am not certain. I thought that 1280 was more in line as a minimum SAT score for ASU Honors.
Have you checked the Barrett Honors College website ?
I just checked ASU Barrett Honors College website. Average GPA is 3.8 & average SAT is 1340.
In line with those averages, my best guess is that one would need a 3.5 or better GPA and at least a 1240 SAT.
@emmam01 : On what basis were you awarded the Provost’s Scholarship ? Is that based on one’s GPA & SAT ?
If you received $14,500 scholarship per year, then I suspect that you will be admitted to ASU Barrett Honors College.
After further thought, ASU is offering an outstanding opportunity based on your numbers. Go, enjoy & learn !
@emmam01 I had about the same weighted GPA as you (and received the same merit aid) and got waitlisted EA. Hope this helps!
@splash19 @Publisher thank you very much, helps alot
Update: Admitted to ASU Barrett 4/30/19

Hey,
I talked to my admission counselor around end of March and he told me that I won’t be able to apply for Barrett Honors College for fall 2019, but possibly for spring 2020. But I just talked to someone today who applied at the same time and got in for fall 2019. Would you think I’ll be still able to? My stats are: 3.4 unweighted, 3.8 weighted gpa, 25 ACT, bunch of extracurriculars. Please advise.
