Chance me as a transfer student for CSE??

I'm currently a college freshman who wants to major in computer science.

My total GPA for this first semester for all my classes could be anywhere from 3.48 to 3.70 (still waiting for one grade back), but I know they are looking at "technical GPA" so just math, programming, science courses relevant to your major.

My technical GPA is 3.167 (so just a little bit short of their reccomended 3.2), but that's because it's only based on two courses just this semester: Calculus 2 and Structures of Programming 1, since I got a B+ in Calc 2 and cringe B in programming.
The other courses required to transfer are in progress, but I was told I can still apply.

Is this ok, even though they "most successful applicants will have at least a 3.2 gpa"
The stats also say of those who were accepted:
52% had a 3.5-4.0 gpa
36% had a 3.0-3.5 gpa (don't know how much of these are over 3.2)
11% had a 2.5-2.99 gpa
and 2% had lower than a 2.5

Will I likely be accepted as a transfer??

Sounds like you already know the answer

I really don’t know how competitive it is, that’s why I’m asking…

(The stats don’t say that much since they have the same kind of thing for ACT scores and some of those people in the lower percentiles didn’t get in…?)

Any other transfer students here?

The overall acceptance rate to CSE for transfer students is generally around 40/45% according to the transfer counselor. Last year’s average gpa was 3.3, up from 3.2 the previous year.

Well I found out my total GPA for this semester is 3.63. But my technical GPA is still 3.167 from those two classes, the other two classes I got both A’s.

So I don’t know if they take the average GPA from the toal GPA or just from the relevant classes/technical GPA.

Does anybody know when transfer students get their results?
