I am a first-year student at The New School in NYC and I am looking to transfer out for several personal and financial reasons. I would like to know my chances of admission to Macalester College. I am also applying to Drake U and DePaul. Feel free to throw out other schools with quality critical theory/rhetoric programs I should check out.

Here are some stats about me:

College Stats-
-I only have one semester of college under my belt (3.75 GPA)
-Dean's List
-I was active in the Experimental Writers Collaborative at T.N.S.
-Took a yearlong leave of absence to reevaluate my life and my future plans. I'm not sure if this will hurt or help me. During this time I worked full-time, studied independently, and visited colleges
-Will interview at Mac in 2 weeks

High School Stats-
-High School GPA: 3.65
-High School Class Rank: Top 25%
-ACT: 27 composite
-AP: All 4's, lang, lit, gov, psych
-4 years of cross country, track; team captain all 4 years
-Graduated with most prestigious honors diploma offered at my school
-A few other smart things that probably won't make much of a difference

I am also starting a non-profit organization that is about a year in the making. I can only assume the admissions officers will like this.

I get that my grades and scores are relatively low, but I think I have some pretty solid extra little snippets going on in my life. Is it worth my time? Give me your honest opinion. By the way, if you think I won't get in, I probably won't like you as much as the others.

Thanks!
