Chance Me as of now (Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Brown, Wake Forest)

High School Sophomore as of now:

3.93 unweighted GPA

Will have 2 Honors Classes and 4 AP classes (2 semester, 2 full year) by the end of Junior Year, with 1 of the honors and 3 of the Aps from Junior year alone. Will probably have 3-4 additional AP senior year, and no honors are offered to seniors.

(Honors Classes I didn’t take: Honors English 1, Honors Bio, Honors Chem. May or may not take Honors Physics. Did not take Freshman honors English and Bio due to not being as motivated as I am now, which I will indicate on applications. Honors Chem is due to the teacher having a horrible reputation, and Honors Physics was the same reasoning, but I learned she’s retiring, so I might swap into it next year. Will have the vast majorities of Aps though, or potentially the actual College equivalent for a couple of them since I live by a university.).

I estimate my weighted GPA will be some somewhere in between 4.075 and 4.10 by the end of Junior year, and 3.92-3.94 unweighted. (My honors courses aren’t weighted by the way, so keep that in mind about my weighted GPA).

Ecs: Cross Country and Track all 4 years, hopefully will be a Cross captain senior year (No track captains). Played Basketball as a freshman, managed this year and plan to next 2 years. Did German Club this year, probably do it next two years, with a possibility of getting a leadership position due to connections with some of the current captains. Might also do Student Council next year, as our grade is underrepresented, and there will be a lot of seniors graduating who are in it).

I also have an idea of starting a fraternity at my school that will raise money to help the school and other people, but details are still hazy at this point. Will update if I have serious progress on this.

Work Experience: Worked at McDonald’s last summer, this Summers job is to be determined, and as well as obviously next Summers.

Class Rank: Currently only sit at Top 15% due to my grade having a lot of REALLY, REALLY good kids for some reason, as well as grade inflation issues. This will be much higher by the end of Junior year, almost definitely in Top 5%.

Act: Took the April ACT, will post scores of that tomorrow. Don’t expect scores to be amazing though, as it’s my first time. Still likely got a 28 or above though.

I have 2 other safety schools, I should clarify, so I do have a backup plan if things don’t work out at any of these.

i’m not an expert (by any stretch of the definition) on college admissions, but:
Course rigor seems to be okay, it’s important to consider the amount of APs offered to how many you’re taking. an important factor in college admissions is what your guidance counselor says your course rigor is (whether you took the best classes offered/or didnt)
Test scores are HUGE at vandy from everything I’ve heard, so usually the 33+ range on the ACT puts you in good standing there
ECS could be a lot better, there’s no aspect of community service or volunteer work to help the needy which is something a lot of these elite institutions value

Yeah I definitely agree on Ecs, which is why I’m adding in Student Council and hopefully can make the Fraternity. I will definitely be getting some volunteer hours too when I get into NHS (Pretty easy to get into in terms of GPA, but also requires 30 hours on your own on top of monthly projects with the other members).

I also do realize test scores are huge, but keep in mind that again, I’m only a sophomore so I can get it up with time ans hard work.

I should mention probably as well that I’ll have every AP or equivalent except for 2 to maybe courses (our school offers all 3 required Sciences as AP, but Chem and Phys are offered online only, so that’s a huge pass. I also hear that our school offers AP music theory or at least did at one point, but I’m not sure about it, and I have no Musical talent so it would be a no go regardless).

Update: Here are the scores
