I THINK THAT'S ALL. THANKS VERY MUCH.

Stanford is a no, I just want to say it at the starting (not with the SAT Score and the GPA)

Novels will HELP A LOT, very unique
The SATs/GPA are too low for Ivy league, 700+ is the norm :l

If you have an AMAZING, TOTALLY AWESOME recs + essay, MAYBE CORNELL, maybe, still high reach :l
1st Gen + Ethnicity is a plus, Oxford is one of the best internationally, so no :l

Good luck, all of the others you will make it into!

^^^I don’t agree. Stanford looks at the entire profile of the person. You have a chance.

Columbia: 15%
Stanford: 12%
Dartmouth: 23%
Cornell: 32%
Emory & Oxford College: 41%
Hamilton: 52%
Trinity (Connecticut): 60%

That is the chance that you have for admission.

You should get into Hamilton, Trinity and Emory but the others are unlikely. My main concern is your class rank, being outside of the top 10% makes ivy league admission a longshot.

Columbia: Waiting for response - denied
Stanford: Waiting for response - denied
Dartmouth: Waiting for response - waitlist/accepted
Cornell: Waiting for response - waitlist/accepted
Emory & Oxford College: Waiting for response - accepted
Hamilton: Waiting for response - accepted
Trinity (Connecticut): Waiting for response - accepted

Being Latino should help you a lot with the Ivies and Stanford! Too bad your SAT scores aren’t higher, will hurt you alottttt.

Thanks very much! I just hope they will accept me in one of my first 4 choices… Any other comments are more than welcome!

KillerCat, by the way i’m talking about oxford college IN emory, a liberal arts college that is united with emory but with easier access. thanks very much all the same

Columbia: High reach
Stanford: High reach
Dartmouth: High reach
Cornell: High reach
Emory & Oxford College: Low reach
Hamilton: Low reach
Trinity (Connecticut): Match
GPA, CR score and Lit score too low for the ivies and Stanford. Good shot at Oxford, not such a good shot at Emory. Hamilton could come down to how they liked your essay etc. Trinity is a match.

Chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1597037-chance-for-top-lacs-ivies-and-other-ultra-selective-schools.html#latest</a></p>

Something I didn’t expect happened… I just got rejected at Trinity. That was my safety school. What should I do?

Well, we can’t exactly tell you now that it’s not a good idea to have a school as competitive as Trinity be your safety because it’s too late. Especially because Trinity is not need-blind. With that being said, I think your ECs are quite good, and you should wait out this admissions cycle.

I think Columbia and Stanford will yield rejections, simply because they’re so competitive and your SAT scores aren’t that high. Dartmouth and Cornell might be more forgiving, but don’t expect acceptances from them. Hamilton is probably a low reach, and Oxford is the closest you have to a match at this point.

If you get rejected everywhere, you have a couple options: take a gap year or find a school that’ll take you. Seeing that all of your colleges are very good ones, I feel that a gap year would appeal to you more. Get a job or volunteer heavily during the gap year, re-write essays, and apply to a more schools, making sure that you have schools that would almost surely accept you and you wouldn’t mind going to. All the schools that would accept you in this admissions cycle aren’t very high ranked and probably won’t provide the financial aid you need.

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1628065-the-ultimate-chancing-thread-with-real-life-incentive.html</a></p>

I’m not trying to be mean but I think you are suffering from something my professor often says: ‘illusion of grandeur’ You are thinking too highly of yourself. That’s a common mistake many international students have made, including me a few years back. Your profile is so not exceptional. My ECs is similar to yours, I also graduated from the best high school in my country where the acceptance rate was ~6%, but my SAT scores were much higher than yours. 650 CR is too low for an English major. And you’re from Argentina, why are you taking SAT 2 Spanish? What are you trying to say? That’s you’re perfect at your native language?
One tip: don’t ever compare yours with the stats you find online and say: Oh I’m better than average. Remember, most of those people don’t need financial aid. Do you? Most of the students from my country at Trinity got 2200+ on the SAT, fyi

Take a year off. Take some risks. Step out of your comfort zone, at least once.
Sorry if this sounds harsh but it’s only for your own good. Ignore it if you like. Best of luck.
