Right – while some kids can prosper wherever they go, there is no common environmental thread that these schools share. Or academic calendar, social vibe, curriculum… etc.
In that case, there is a 90% chance that you’ll be attending your state school, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Your reaches only have space to accommodate 10% or less people of your caliber, because there are that many similarly strong applications.
