Chance me at Barnard!!!!!!!!!!!

I would really love to be accepted into Barnard since it is my #1 choice. I am a Hispanic senior applying ED, since I've heard it improves chances slightly. I believe the overall atmosphere is very empowering, it has the small college feel while centered in one of the greatest cities in the world, and it has the benefits of the association with Columbia. Please tell me what my chances are.

GPA: 4.3 weighted, 3.7 unweighted
SAT: math- 570 reading- 630 writing-600
ACT: Will take it this month in October.
Mostly APs, Dual Enrollment, and Honors.
top 25% of my class (I was in the top 5% of my first high school, but then I moved to a different city and entered an EXTREMELY competitive high school)
ECs:
President and Founder of local charity group
Youth Group leader
Published author in local newspapers and literary magazines
1st place writing contest winner for two consecutive years in my county
Also active in newspaper, literary society and art honor society
300+ hrs. of community service

I also have an amazing life story that I will talk about in my essay if that helps at all???

I know my SAT is far from stellar, but I just took it again and hope to improve.

I think it will help that you’re Hispanic but I would guess that your scores still need to be closer to 680’s in each of math and verbal. I wonder if Smith is a little easier to get into and might have some of the same assets since it does have the connection to Amherst etc. (not in the world’s greatest city, though…) But try ED----it’s not out of the question that it will work. Amazing life story could help----see whether they give interviews too. Let them know in any way you can how interested you are.

you should consider applying through BOP, since your SAT scores are low. check the website for what the program is… a lot of financial aid and they look for minorities. your sat scores are really low, and there is a cutoff for BOP (as in, they cant be higher than a certain number)
