Chance me at BMC ED 1?

Middle class white female from upstate NY (I will definitely need financial aid)
My public school is known for its quality and rigor

3.93 UW GPA
31 ACT (English: 35, Math: 27, Reading: 32, Science: 28 and 11 on Writing)
I take honors courses whenever I have the opportunity (minus junior and senior year math)

APs I have already taken:
AP World History sophomore year (5), AP Lang junior year (5), APUSH junior year (5), AP Euro junior year (4)

Senior courseload:
AP Environmental Science
AP Art History
AP Literature
AP French
Advanced Drawing and Painting
Precalculus
Economics (mandatory)
Law and Government (mandatory)
Health (mandatory)

As you may be able to see from the AP courses I’ve taken, I’m definitely interested in studying english and history or art history in college

Extra Curriculars:
-Our nationally recognized award winning literary mag for four years (Design editor sophomore year, design and literary editor junior year, submissions editor and literary coach senior year, both leadership positions)
-Film Society for four years (vice president junior year and president senior year)
-Student council for three years (class rep freshman year, secretary sophomore year, class rep junior year)
-Mindfulness Club for two years (vice president senior year)
-Anchor for the morning show senior year
-Independent jewelry making project senior year (Is this appropriate to mention this under extra curriculars?)

Volunteering:
-Tech crew for the school’s summer arts plays for three summers (about 250 hours total)

In my descriptions for my student council and tech crew work I was going to emphasize my niche in the artistic jobs such as painting the class murals and other detailed work

Awards:
Excellence in jewelry making award junior year
Highest achievement on the national latin exam sophomore year

I predict that both of my recommendation essays will be strong, as well as the supplemental and common app

Just a BMC parent here, but your stats certainly look good. Just think about fit and your “why BMC” essay.

I’m a current BMC student, and you definitely have a good chance of getting in. The “why BMC” essay is absolutely important. Interviews are optional, but it doesn’t hurt to do it anyway (if you can’t make it to campus for an interview, you can do one through Skype or over the phone!).
