Common essay was pretty good, supplemental was very good.
3 letters of rec, guidance counselor and one teacher will be great, other teacher will be average.
pretty average extra curriculars, nothing spectacular
a lot of volunteer hours
Also, if anyone else was deferred from ED1, please leave your stats below!
Interesting you got deferred on ED1. Perhaps ED2 might have been the way to go? Either way, RD is going to be a crap shoot. There may be 20k apps for 1300 spots. Even if BC accepts 4k, that’s a 20% admit rate. Let us know how you did. Good luck.
I don’t think I could’ve applied ED2, most schools only let you do regular decision after getting deferred from ED1. Not sure about BC though since this is the first year they’ve done early decision.

My question/comment was actually rhetorical but let me restate my though/question… Rather than apply ED1, I wonder if your chances for acceptance would have been slightly or marginally better if you had applied ED2 instead of ED1? I don’t base this question on any insights other than the fact that since this is BC’s first year rolling out ED, the field of applicants might have been more crowded in ED1 compared to ED2??? ,YetI hate to answer my own question-ED2 might have been more crowded than ED1 since the Ivies and upper top tier 25 schools, results would be out prior to ED2, making ED2 more competitive than ED1??.. I’m just theorizing here and spinning hypothetical. God luck in ED.
Yes, I see your point. And I agree, I think both ED 1 and 2 probably would’ve been pretty similarly competitive, as BC is such a competitive school.
