Chance me at Cornell, Duke, Brown, NCSU, Bucknell U?

I'm in the fall of my junior year, and am just curious as to what you guys think. I bombed my first SAT in Oct with a 1910, but took it again yesterday and felt very confident. I'm guessing that I (maybe) got a 2100...? I am not sure about my GPA as of this semester, but I've listed my grades as an estimate. I'm considering either an animal science or neuroscience degree depending on the school I go to.

Will my low SAT scores and A-'s hurt my chances? Does the dog agility thing stand out?

Oh, and I'm new here. Hi.

Just bumping this 'cause I’m awesome.

okay, wait whats your question?

Basically asking if my EC’s are still weak with the dog agility thing and if not, if they will help me out with low SAT scores and two A-'s.

ECs don’t often make up for low scores. Do you have a class rank?

1 if I make all A’s this year.

What would be a good minimum SAT score to have?

bumpittybump

2250 for the first 3. This may help, the others are similar:

Thanks!

I noticed that the mid 50% of applicants still had some scores in the 600’s. My problem my first time taking the SAT was that I bombed the math section (don’t know why… I usually score very high when I test in math) but did very well on the other sections.

I’ve also noticed on here that a lot of “chances” have posts with B’s, but the people are still considered decent applicants for Ivy Leagues. They have all these fancy awards that I don’t, however, and pretty good SAT scores. Would SAT scores be more important than my GPA? It’s just strange to me that you could get into an Ivy with a B, not including the exceptions. I’ve basically been told that B = F all my life, when in reality it could still be okay because people brag about their kids being “A/B students.” I DON’T KNOW ANYMORE! :D

Also, does anyone know what my chances would be if I went to a school like NCSU or Bucknell and transferred to an Ivy League or Duke, assuming I got all A’s?

Rank is king at almost all colleges. At ivies and peer schools, you must also have the SATs.

Remember when looking at the 50 percentile range that a full 50% of the class has a hook. Half the class is taken up by recruited athletes, URMs, legacies, donor children, staff kids and the very connected. These groups can have lower stats. The unhooked are likely to be at or above the 75th percentile, so the top of the range.

Thanks so much! I’m hoping my rank helps me out then. I have plenty of time to bring up my SATs scores, though. Fingers crossed that I’ll be a happy person in 18 days!
