• I am an entrepreneur in the beginning stages of starting a clothing business. My business has had a quite a bit of success to date.
•I am a member of DECA, in which I serve as Vice President. In DECA, I won first place in the region in Business Management & Administration, and won first place in the state for both Business Management & Administration and Retailing.
•I serve as a representative on the Student School Board, where I work alongside staff members to make decisions to benefit the school.
•I am a leader of the Peer Mentoring Committee, which is a group of students with the goal of acclimating the school's new students by serving as a mentor and guiding the students.
• I was inducted into National Honor Society and serve as the Secretary for the organization.
• I am a member of FBLA, Mu Alpha Theta, and Key Club
• I am a leader of the Prom Planning Committee
• I play basketball and softball for recreational-league teams. </p>

<p>=WORK/INTERNSHIPS=
• This fall, I will be interning with the hospitality company that is used by the University of Georgia for their events. I will gain 100+ hours of experience and will be gaining experience in a hospitality-related environment.
• Currently, I work at a local clothing store as a sales associate and plan on continuing work here until I begin college. </p>

<p>=COMMUNITY SERVICE=
I have completed hundreds of hours of community service with 20+ organizations during high school. I have chosen to spend a great deal of my free time volunteering.</p>

<p>=ESSAYS=
Writing is my strong suit, so my essays should be stellar. I am confident that Cornell is the only school that will provide the specialized education that I need to fulfill my career goals (one day owning and operating my own boutique hotel), and I plan on emphasizing that in my "Why Cornell" essay. </p>

<p>=TEACHER RECS=
My recs should be glowing because I will be getting one from my Chinese teacher (who I had from Chinese 1 through AP Chinese) and also from my AP literature teacher who i know respects me as a person and as a student. </p>

<p>You sound like a competitive applicant and I definitely think that having a strong interest in Cornell as you mention will reflect well in your essay. Are you taking any other SAT II’s? I’d recommend another one, and maybe retaking your math one because it’s a solid score but a tad low because SAT II’s are intended to show your expertise in a subject. I’d also say you’re a little light on the AP courses, but I’m not sure if there’s much you can do about that now.</p>

<p>You have a solid chance in my opinion. I would expect you to get admitted. It should help that you have ECs focused on your intended major.

<p>Cornell is a very selective school so nobody should EXPECT to get in, but my guess is that you would get accepted. The high ACT score definitely helps your odds. The only thing you can do now to better your chances is take another SAT II and write a killer essay.</p>

<p>I think you should take another SAT subject test. And have you taken the SAT reasoning test? That is even more important than the subject tests. And I think if possible you should take subjects like Economics or Business in your senior year. That will be more relevant to your major than taking science subjects. Other than that, I believe u have very high chances with Cornell and even the other Ivies like Princeton maybe.</p>
