Chance Me at Dartmouth: And Does Applying ED Give Me An Advantage?

Hi everyone. I am applying early decision to Dartmouth and just wanted to maybe get some opinions on how my odds are.

UW GPA: 3.84 (school doesn’t weight it)
RANK: School doesn’t report rank
SAT: 1420
SUBJECT TESTS: Taking November 4 so unsure yet

Extra curriculars:

-Prefect in my boarding school dorm
-President and founder of Mock Trial club junior and senior year
-Varsity Captain of Field Hockey
-Varsity Captain of Lacrosse
-Women’s Shelter volunteer
-Teens Leading Children volunteer
-Tour Guide Club for my school
-Received a Fellowship Grant to teach and empower women in Kathmandu, Nepal for three weeks
-Studied Spanish and received six college credits with a grade of an A+ in Salamanca, Spain for three weeks
-Volunteer trip to Lourdes, France to assist disabled pilgrims in a hospital
-Studied art history for 2 weeks in Rome, Italy through my school
-Animal Shelter volunteer for 6 years
-investment club for three years
-New England math league 4 years
-Attended West Point Summer Leadership seminar (had to apply for this)

Senior Course Load: AP Spanish, AP Statistics, AP Art History, AP English, AP Biology, and Faith and Life

AP SCORES: AP Calculus AB (4) AP US History (4) AP English Language (4) (AP Scholar award)

RECS: Only read my peer review one, but I think they will be very strong

applying ED helps, but I don’t think your chances are that good anyways IMO, gpa, scores and EC are lacking

what major?

women’s and gender studies. My essays, supplements, and extracurriculars really reflect this passion. I also sent a newspaper article I was featured in talking about my trip to Nepal creating lesson plans, the women, etc. My counsellor rec and optional rec also reference this passion.

Honestly, I just adore anyone interested in women’s and gender studies, but I like you just based on this post. Don’t let college confidential kill your faith. A 1420 is so good. Best of luck to you!! I did the same thing–my ED school is far out of reach for me, but I went for it because I’m financial aid-less wherever I go and I am in love with the school. I hope you went for it!
