SAT II: Math II 800 Chemistry 780 U.S History 770
GPA: UW 3.79 W 4.44 (almost all my B’s were in 1st semester of freshman year)
Rank: ~Top 6-7%
Ethnicity: Indian
Income- Not from low income bracket

ECs-
Varsity/JV Golf/ Individual Golf Tournaments at Regional level (9-12th) and Top 3 finishes at regional individual competitions.
Patent Publication (9-12th): Research an idea regarding digital measurement
Concert Orchestra (9-12th): 2nd Desk cello
Tutor (9-12th)- Helped brother with autism get through high school and improve social skills
Hospital Volunteer (11th-12th)- helped plan events and fundraise for patients and family. Raised over $3000 (2nd most in hospital) to send patients and family to Amusement Park.
Robotics Senior Builder (10th,12th)- Part of build team. Won regional competition and went to World Championships in 2015
Academic Decathlon (11th-12th)- Competed on Scholastic team and then moved into Honors Team. Competed at County level
Chess Club (9,10,12th) - Vice President, Teach kids help regulars improve at chess. Helped recruit
Volunteer at Orthopedic Clinic (10th Summer)- Shadowed doctor, patient registration, and helped implement a new advertising strategy for better outreach.
Volunteer at International Hospital/Clinic (9th Summer)- Started English Translation services to serve foreigners at clinic and standard work at the hospital.

Your Academic strength is really incredible, but your ECs are pretty overwhelming. Though this can be good, I would suggest focusing your application on one or two of these extra curriculars so that you don’t end up looking like the typical well rounded student.

stats are good. but at top 20 schools, u just don’t know what happens. i’d say your chances for ED are around 60% lol, but that’s just my opinion. you’re indian, which I’m not being racist or anything, but it sure won’t help in admissions as it is with all Asians. if u apply for financial aid, it will be worse. but good luck lol

Based on those stats and extracurriculars, I’d say you have a great chance of getting accepted. As long as your essays aren’t terrible and you don’t come off as stuck-up, you have a very good chance (I’d give you 75%). Applying ED will definitely help.

I would say you have a pretty strong chance based on test scores, but your huge number of ECs could show a lack of focus and schools often want to see a peak in one area of interest. However, I think getting into Duke ED won’t be a problem simply because you are obviously a very dedicated student with outstanding test scores. Best of luck! chance me back!
