I know my stats wouldn't stand a chance at RD, but do you think I'll stand a chance at ED?

I think your CR score is going to concern them. If you really want to come to Emory, you’re allowed to apply ED to both the Atlanta campus and the Oxford campus (http://oxford.emory.edu/).

You have a very very high gpa but your sat scores could potentially be a problem, but your ECs could make up for it. wish you the best of luck!

The downward trend in your GPA is definitely going to hurt you. As for your SAT scores, you should work on improving your CR. Your EC’s look pretty solid.

However, this is undergrad admissions (not like most med. schools or post-UG program admissions that are “rigor blind” and only wants to see numbers). The “downward trend” correlates with the increased rigor of the OP’s workload. This counts worth something and kind of compensates. If it was the same courseload, and the GPA declined some, then it would be another story. As for CR, could use some work, I’d agree on that. Good thing they did ED though, because a 1200 something for RD may give the OP a rough time (especially given their ethnicity).

I am glad your an ED, and wish you luck, but your CR score is really low. Emory places a large emphasis on writing (All students have to take 5 writing classes before they graduate) so I expect this to transfer to their admissions philosophy. I think you can make up for this in your application if you have good grades in the “writing intensive” classes you have taken thus far/ AP classes!
