Chance me at George Washington University

White, Male, Senior, Fall of 2017 RD Applicant.

GPA: 3.73 UW; 4.39 W (GPA is low because I did poorly my freshman year)
My school doesn’t do class percentages. I go to a competitive school

ACT: 32
Reading: 36
English: 35
Science 30
Math: 28

AP Eng Lang: 5
AP US History: 4
AP World History: 3
(I don’t have many AP’s because I am mostly an IB student)

I am enrolled in mostly IB courses. This year, I am taking 5 IB courses (three HL’s and two Sl’s). My junior year was pretty much the same and my sophomore and freshman year also had strong course loads. I have relatively strong activities: two varsity activities, sports captain, NHS, etc. I’ve done some activities that correspond well with my major: three years on Varsity debate and MUN.

GW is high on my list and I hope that having a sister there would help a little bit. I plan to major in International Relations. Please share some thoughts.

I do not have a sister at GW (correction)*

Your UW GPA is above average among applicants (3.64), as is your weighted GPA (4.03). This is not a low GPA, also!! A 3.73, especially given a competitive high school, is certainly strong! Your test scores as strong as well, higher than the average 30 on the ACT for GW. What are your extracurriculars? Do any have to do with your major of interest? This would indeed add to your strength as an applicant. Best of luck!

I think you are a very competitive applicant

Looks like you have a strong application. I think you have an excellent chance at being accepted.
