You are going to get into at least 3 of those universities. A 4.92 GPA is the highest GPA I have heard about. Oxford and Cambridge might be a bit tougher though.

@Equation: Really? That’s cool
Our salutatorian has a 4.72, is that still unheard of ?(she is very smart as well).

Any advice for Oxford/Cambridge?

Ru ecs are not only good but pretty good u can’t be hurt there. The invention stuff is impressive

Also my weighted gpa for this year was 4.72 so that gpa isn’t unheard of but more of an expectation at those schools

Wow. I remember reading that there were only 3 perfect ACT/SAT combos in America and one was by Aseem Jha. Either you’re a ■■■■■ or an academic god. You will probably get into 3/5 American schools listed and Oxford and Cambridge are reliant on your IB scores. If I’m correct you need a minimum of a 6,7,7 in your HL classes.

Wow I did not know it was even possible to take 20 AP’s in high school. Obviously there won’t be any candidates anywhere who are significantly better than you at any school (can’t really speak for Oxford/Cambridge though). It is not guaranteed that you will get into all of those colleges only because I firmly believe the colleges speak amongst one another to let each other know who they have accepted so that other people can get a chance to attend Yale/MIT because obviously you can only attend one of them. Without a doubt you will be getting into at least a couple and will be very successful wherever you go. Keep up the great work.

I believe your few low scores will not hinder you at all, especially for Physics AP because of a legitimate reason.

As an A-level student, I can say that you have a great shot at Oxbridge because your certainly can qualify for the next stage, which is the aptitude test stage.

Your EC’s are not stellar but it shows that you are not a geek that only knows how to study.

By the way, I’m curious as to why would you have any problem with the fees considering your parents are incredibly intelligent people? Oxford and Cambridge would be significantly cheaper by the way, but I believe there are few scholarships for international students in the UK.

@0utofthenormal: I don’t qualify for that because I didn’t technically get a perfect on my first SAT or ACT, you need 800’s and 36’s across the board! But thank you!
@Adam: Oh, that makes sense! Thank you!
@ienivs: My mom, unfortunately, passed away when I was 7
But yes, my dad has a fairly solid career (180k) but with all of my other siblings he still could not afford the full tuition of any of these schools

Bump10char

You MIGHT get into couple of them.

2400 and 36 and 800s and 4.0 do not impress me. (I saw too many of them. And, they all got rejected or waitlisted by HYPSM).

20more:

Are you saying it is a disadvantage to have all of my scores so high? Or is it just not an advantage, or what is the case here?

Wow, you’re in pretty darn good shape. I would expect you to get into at least one-two of those schools. Good luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517874-summer-chances-yale-brown-etc.html

Shermanbrad is giving you some messed up facts, I wouldn’t listen to them. Stanford is in the top 5 in engineering and physics. And you can apply to Harvard and Yale and Cambridge. That as just a completely made up fact. You would have to choose between Harvard and Yale for your Early acceptance application…but you could apply to as many as you wanted for regular acceptance.

And dude, you have a perfect score on the act and sat, that’s impressive. Don’t let people tell you colleges don’t care about that. they do.

@23theman23
I didn’t say not to apply to stanford it’s a great school for engineering but Harvard Yale really aren’t and Princeton is just okay for the type he wants to go into biomed u can say I’m wrong but I do know what I’m talking about

Also ur high scores don’t hurt u he is just saying that like a said ur high scores really fit matter they have I be high but I’ve seen perfect scores get rejected many times but ur ecs are good enough to get u in

I would post in the UK forum if you want more feedback about Oxbridge.

as for HYPSM, you definitely have a great shot, but, like everyone always says, it’s a crap shoot.

@23theman23:

@sherwoodman:

Thanks guys, I understand the points you are making. @23theman23, that’s good to know! I was sort of worried! @sherwoodman so you don’t think I should look at Princeton for my field of interest?

Of hypsm h and y really don’t have that great of an engineering dep. p is okay but my great. S is very very good and the best on ur list. Mit is good but really not sure bout biomed. Johns Hopkins in my opinion is the best. If I wanted anything med that’s my top pick in the world. Duke is very good too. Both duke and Johns Hopkins ESP Johns Hopkins is better in biomed than hypm and maybe stanford not too sure

@sherwoodman:

What are my chances at Johns Hopkins/Duke?
