over 80 hours of volunteering (will increase to about 300 this summer), National Honors Society, Orchestra (Band member)

SAT: 1830 (I KNOW. ITS TERRIBLE. I'll be drilling this entire summer and hope to raise it to a 2100 so keep the "2100" in mind.)

Courses completed by the end of senior year (AP's): AP Psychology, APUSH, AP Bio, AP Physics, AP French, AP Lang & Comp, AP Calculus, AP British Lit...

Your reading and math SAT scores will need to be above 700.

Well, the goal is 2100 but if I can manage to score even higher…thats great! I’ve just been really lazy when it comes to the SAT…too much schoolwork.

Anyone else?

Everything other than your SAT score is right on track for those schools and their peers. If you can work on your SAT and write killer essays, you stand as good of a chance as anyone. Obviously a 2100 has a nice ring, but if you can just get it over 2000 you’ll make it to the second read through at least, and that’s when the rest of your application can shine. Anything else of note to mention (hooks? potential majors?) that could sway admissions decisions?

Also wanted to comment to encourage you to look at Tufts, since it seems right up your alley! Similar applicant pools to a lot of those schools so I was surprised it wasn’t on your list already, plus with your interests in a capella and model UN I think you’d really love it there. I 1000% recommend my experience there.

Write good essays, and get that SAT score up.

@tuftskid: thanks a lot! I feel a lot more confident now…and I have considered Tufts but always thought I had a very slim chance. I’ll look more into the school! :)

@AustroHungarian: Thanks haha. I’ll surely try…:/

Why do yours get so many more views than mine? I don’t understand it…

And definitely get your SAT up. Have you tried taking the ACT?

@chargers12121: because I’m cool…

and nope I’m taking the ACT in September probably…

What’s your unweighted GPA (if you have one)?

I’m not really sure…I don’t have my transcript from the previous two years to calculate it either…:/
