Hi, I applied ED to Lehigh and an anxious as all hell waiting to hear back at the end of the week/

Hook: I wrote an essay about an aquaponic garden I built in my junior year. I couldn’t be more proud of it and it us undoubtedly the best part of my app.

Work experience: Summer job with dad, sorting inventory and posting items on online store (junior summer), Work at a Law Firm, scanning files, filing papers, filing documents at courthouse (summer going into senior year, and work through out senior year)

Volunteer Work: HSPT Test tutoring (8 hours, freshman) Food bank meal bag assembly (10 hours sophomore and junior year) Habitat for Humanity Restore, where I helped sell items that funded house builds (40 hours sophomore and junior year)

I like your chances; over 50% for sure, I’d say, especially from the West Coast. The IBE program may be a different story – you may get into your secondary major and not IBE. IBE has around 120 applications for 50 spots (that is after RD), so uber competitive.

Edit: W GPA is 3.85 not 43.85 haha

I can’t find any hard numbers at the Lehigh website, but I’ve heard that IBE is actually significantly more competitive than that. For, example, the following was reported on one college tour website; I would assume that it is based on info received during the tour:

Would agree that ED admission seems likely, especially given Lehigh’s interest in recruiting Californians. But IBE is tough for everyone.

Oops… typo… IBE got about 1200 applications for 50 spots, and that was 3 years ago… probably gotten tougher since then.
