Chance me at Middlebury?

Ok I don't really know how this website works so sorry if I'm doing this wrong.

I'm only a sophomore in high school but I was wondering if you could give me an idea of where I stand. Thanks!!

W GPA: 4.3
UW GPA: 3.92
I've never gotten below a 90 in a class (so far)
I'm taking all honors in my main subjects and an honors elective (art)
I'll be taking all honors and two AP's (studio drawing and psychology) next year and as a junior

on my PSAT: 1900; 680 writing, 670 math, 550 reading
I'm taking SAT review courses and hoping those will go up..

I'm in a club at school that visits nursing homes twice a month and I'm trying to "adopt a grandparent"
I played JV softball last year and will probably be on Varsity this year (so I'll have 3 years of Varsity). I stopped playing club this year so I doubt I could play softball for Middlebury even though it's D3, but I don't know

I'll have an art portfolio when I apply
I go to art lessons for 8+ hours a week and I've won a few awards (plus I got "artist of the month" at the gallery where I take classes)

I visited Middlebury and emailed them telling them that I liked that tour (showing interest?)
I go to a public school in New Jersey and Middlebury hasn't accepted a lot of students from here.
And my school does't rank but I should be in the top 10%.

Thank you!

Also I would say that I would prefer to be a Feb, if that helps

Hard for any of us to say. Your numbers are in the ballpark (maybe slightly on the low side), but with a school like Middlebury, it will always be a crapshoot. Plenty of qualified students are rejected every year. You’ll never know unless you apply. Good luck.

Really figure out how to work on your reading score, but things can change a lot from PSAT to SAT. You could definitely be in the ballpark. Wanting to be a Feb could help a little.

I don’t think you have a good chance right now. You are a female from the NE with decent grades and scores but nothing distinctive. Your reading score in particular is WAY too low for Midd unless you are a URM, first generation etc.
You are a sophomore so you can improve. Get the best grades and take the hardest courses you can. Try the ACT, you may do better. Push that community service and try to make a compelling reason why Midd would want you. Keep playing softball, you may be surprised who can play D3.
Report back next spring and I’ll chance you again…
