Antarius, perhaps I am mis-reading the Rice admissions site information, but I was under the impression that Rice did superscore SAT tests. Am I missing something here?

MSmom&dad, yes that was the page that I was reading. It is a bit confusing but I concluded that they did superscore the SAT because of the specific contrast that they made to not superscoring the ACT.

So can schools tell how many tests I’ve taken even when I do not submit them?
-and is it beneficial to send both my ACT and SAT scores when my SAT is considered better?
thanks again

I don’t believe the College Board gives you any choice in what scores you submit (unless that’s changed recently). If you submit anything, you submit everything.

yes . ALL previous taken tests are sent in automatically

OP - they do NOT superscore the SAT. they take the highest overall from your test sitting. this is to dissuade people from retakig it repeatedly and to make people who cant afford it leveled on the same playing field

With Rice, yes. For other universities, you can use score choice where you select which SAT score you want the university to see so you don’t have to send in all of the scores. HOWEVER, Rice University requires you to send in all the scores. You can use score choice for other universities but you can’t use it when you apply to Rice.

That is actually the total reason why they are doing that. More people are taking the ACT and less are taking the SAT so they want to make more money and so they decided to make score choice.

The PSAT is not included in the “sent scores” category, correct? I’m assuming that since it is simply a practice, it is not…I would just like to have it confirmed?
