I am a rising senior deciding where to ED next fall. I am a legacy at UPenn and Cornell, but have fallen in love with Northwestern due to location and SESP program (a school dedicated to ethics/public policy/public health). My stats are:
- 4.4 weighted GPA Junior Year: AP Lang, AP Envi Sci, AP US, Chinese (no honors available), Russian (independent study, no honors available) Precalc and Stat
-Classes for next year: AP Comp Sci, AP Photo, AP Lit, AP Pysch, Electives in Religion/Pyschology, Russian Independent study - Took ACT last October, 34 composite (36 english, 36 reading, 36 science, 26 math). Did worse when I took it in April so probably will not take it again
- 800 on Lit subject test, taking US History in June
-two varsity sports, one captainship - lots of clubs/activities: Orchestra, Choir, Model UN, Feminism Club, Animal Rights Club, Social Justice Club, Community Service, Newspaper, Piano, Cello, Tennis, Hockey, Basketball
- I have a great internship at Yale Children’s Hospital this summer, and I worked at a start up app last summer
- I am from an affluent neighberhood in Connecticut, 17 yo female with hispanic background. Not looking for financial aid or scholarship
- Things that set me apart is being fluent in Chinese/Hebrew, lived in different countries
I know I am in the ballpark for admissions at a lot of places but I am definitely worried about standing out. If anyone has any advice for me that would great, thanks!
