Please chance me for my other schools if you can (or want to). It’ll be a great help. Thanks so much!

Hopefully this will give me additional insight, as most other “Chance Me” posts I’ve seen are from people who have an incredibly high GPA/SAT scores, and impeccable extracurriculars/sports/leadership positions. I’ve lost confidence in my application due to my mediocre GPA and scores, despite having rec letters from two of my favorite teachers (AP Psych & APUSH teachers) who continuously encourage me. I am also hoping that my Personal Insight essays will somehow set me apart from my test scores, although I feel my “Why NYU?” Prompt response may have sounded a bit generic.

Hi, no one here can tell you your chances but last year, of those accepted to NYU, here is where their stats fell:

33% overall acceptance rate

Of those accepted:

GPA
3.00-3.24: 10%
3.25-3.49: 23%
3.50-3.74: 34%

3.75-4.00: 29%

Reading SAT
500-599: 15%
600-699: 52%
700-800: 32%

Math SAT
500-599: 12%
600-699: 43%
700-800: 44%

Your GPA and SAT scores are below the 25th percentile at NYU and BC. These schools are reaches for you. GWU and UMass are matches, though.
