Chance me at NYU

I want to transfer to NYU CAS in Spring 2009. I've completed 64 credits at a community college part time for four years now because I started a business w/ a partner. I want to go back to college and NYU is one of my top choices.

One problem: my high school stats were so dismal.

I'm a black male, 22 yrs old, high school GPA: 2.5 SAT 1000

College GPA 3.8, 64 credits.

In addition to working 50 hrs/ a week, I volunteer a lot.

Do I have a chance???

I don't think your HS grades will matter after four years and 64 credits.
Great college GPA; I'd expect you to be a competitive candidate at NYU.
You might lose some of your credits, as 64 is more than two years' worth.

Match and not safety because of your SAT score IMO. Raise it and will become a sure bet. CAS had around an 11% transfer acceptance rate this year..... I think. Somewhere around there anyway, and a counselor informed me that there was little difference in competitiveness between CAS and Stern. This initially surprised me, but NYU is a very popular school. Perhaps more than it's academic prestige and U.S. News ranking would warrant. I mean, it is New York City. People want to go there you know?
