I think you’ll be a borderline candidate, leaning more toward admit. Your freshman year grades might be excused given the coursework you’re taking your senior year and your impressive extracurricular involvement; they’ll probably assume that you had something personal going on your freshman year. You can always address that in the additional section they give you on the Common App. Your mixed ethnicity and in-state status will be good for you as well. ACT is good, but a 29 is considered average for OSU now. Overall, stay optimistic!

The Common App definitely used to have a specific “Additional Information” section, as of 2014 and 2015. It should be on the Writing page, but it’s possible that they’ve omitted it this year.
