So chance me! And feel free to give suggestions for matches and safeties!!

UCD: Match to High Match
UCLA/UCB: High Match to Low Reach

Your UC GPA and test scores are on target, HS course and EC’s look good. It may come down to your essays to set you apart from the rest of the competitive applicants.

Good Luck.

Was your SAT score 1530 or 1430? If the former then I think you’ll get into UCD and UCLA as well as one of your other top choices. Good Luck and write good essays!

@ben69420 I meant 1530! thanks!

You probably have a fair(ish) shot at Berkeley and Brown and a decent shot at UCLA. The other Ivy’s + Chicago might be reaches tho. Oh and that means you should definitely make it to UCD. JHU should again be a reach.

UC Berkeley
-low reach
UCLA
-low reach
UC Davis
-match
Johns Hopkins
-reach
UChicago (EA)
-reach
Brown
-reach
Columbia
-reach

I would suggest looking at some schools like Cal Poly Slo, UCI, CWRU

Apply for more match schools and you have NOOO back up schools

I’m fairly certain you’ll get into Davis! UCLA is probable, and Berkeley a little less so. Your others are reaches, but I think that if you write good essays and stand out, you have a shot of getting into one of them!

UCD - match
UCLA & Cal - Low Reach, this varies imo on your school’s CDS. Top 18 can be too low of a ranking at many schools relative to the other seniors at your school. If your school traditionally sends over a dozen to either school, I’m comfortable saying your chances are pretty good.

The rest are reaches.

Good luck, keep your grades up.

@Burdened well my school sent 19 people to UCLA and 26 people to Cal this year (according to senior grad data)…so I guess my chances are decent. Thanks!

@collegeguru2017 I realize I have “NOOO back up schools”, that’s why I asked for suggestions! Thanks for recommending SLO, I’ll be adding it to my list, as well as lower UCs like UCI.

But also something to note is that I’m most likely going to qualify for ELC at the UCs, so I probably will have a backup.

ELC doesn’t give you your choice of UC. It is intended to provide a place for you at a designated UC that has room. Right now, that UC would be Merced. You don’t get to pick and choose.

@“aunt bea” yeah I realize that, I mean I would be fine going to Merced

^ with your stats you deserve better than UCM, even as safety!
