Hey guys! I'll post my stats/ECs/schools below. I'd love it if you guys could offer me some input as to my chances at each or some of the schools. If you want me to (attempt to) chance you back or check out any of your threads, just let me know and I'll be more than willing. :)

GPA- UW 3.83/4, not sure about weighted
Rank- 6/215
ACT- 31 (35 E, 31M, 29 R, 28S) ... I retook in October and I'm expecting a 32-33
Essays- I worked hard on my essays and I personally think they turned out fairly well. I received some good feedback.

ECs-
I don't want to bore you guys too much, but I'm fairly solid in this area. I have a good deal of leadership, lots of community service, sports (captain), NHS, founded and am very involved in a club, have one passion/dedication that stands out in my app... etc. Bottom line--I'm involved in my school and my community but I probably don't have anything that REALLY sets me apart from other applicants at top schools. ECS are probably my strongest area though.

Schools (I'll just post the reaches):
Penn (CAS, ED, legacy)
Tufts
Bowdoin
Boston College
Carnegie Mellon
Hopkins
Colgate
Hamilton
Cornell
Middlebury

Thanks! I understand that the schools above are really competitive, but do you think I have a shot at any of the schools. I'd honestly be thrilled to attend any of the schools I've listed.

Penn - with legacy and early decision, you should have a pretty solid shot here. maybe about a 50/50, unless you are applying to Wharton, which is very hard to get into.
Tufts - low reach/high match
Bowdoin - high match/match (ACT optional too)
Boston College - match
Hopkins - high match
Cornell - about the same as Penn
Middlebury - low reach/reach

If you can bring that 31 up to 33, I think your chances will increase SIGNIFICANTLY. Even if you just bring it up to a 32, that would be a major improvement.

Anyways, I’d say:
Penn (CAS, ED, legacy)- it’s 50/50… if your essays are stellar and you get great recs, I think that could move your application into the admit pile… if not, I don’t think it’s gonna happen
Tufts- I’d say you have about a 50% shot
Bowdoin- I think you have a little better than a 50% shot (especially if you bring those scores up)
Boston College- For some reason, I think you’ll get in here
Carnegie Mellon- I think you have a 70ish percent shot
Hopkins- I think this one could go either way. I’d guess that you won’t get in… but I think you have just under a 50% shot… maybe 30-40%… depends on your essays! Also, JHU seems to really focus on testing (if you check out their stats), so if you can get that 33 and if you have some good subject tests, I think you have a great shot
Colgate- hmmm… 50/50? I think you’ll get in, but idk. Essays will be a big factor here in my opinion. Hopefully you have some good letters of rec too
Hamilton- Hopefully your essays are well written. Hamilton focuses a LOT of writing… anyways, I think you have about a 60-70% shot at acceptance
Cornell- I’d say you have a 40-50% shot of acceptance… again, get those scores up!
Middlebury- hmmm… reach… I’d say you have a 40% shot. Bring up those scores and write some personal, interesting essays

Penn (CAS, ED, legacy)- I’m not sure what the CAS is. I’d say since you are doing ED and have legacy you have about a 50% shot. Wharton is definitely more competitive, idk which school you’re going for.
I’d give you the same chances for Tufts and Cornell. they are usually slightly easier but you don’t have the legacy or ED so 50/50 for those.

Bowdoin- don’t know it
Boston College- you’re pretty safe here
Carnegie Mellon- slightly better chance than Cornell but not as likely as BC. i’d like to say you SHOULD get in but i’m not too too sure
Hopkins- 50%
Colgate- i think you’ll get in
Hamilton and Middlebury- don’t know them

Sangwoo Kim… do you even know anything about the schools I listed? ha

No one is “in” at Middlebury… and Tufts is not a “low match” for even the most qualified applicants. I wouldn’t say anyone is “in” at Colgate or Hamilton either… and Hopkins is pretty much just as hard to get into as Penn.

I’m a little confused by your predictions… but I’ll go ahead and chance you now.

Anyone else have any predictions? I’ll chance back! :D

Thanks for chancing me! I think you have a good shot at a lot of these schools. Even if your ACT score might not be like a 35, your ECs are really solid and a 31 is a great ACT score.

Legacy can play a big role at top schools so I think that you have a really good shot at UPenn. Also, since you applied ED, its even more helpful. So I think you have about a 60% shot.

Hamilton Bowdoin and Middlebury- I have heard of them and I have a Hamilton College pen but I dont know them too well

Tufts-good shot
Carnegie Mellon-you have a good chance of getting in
Cornell- you have a 50-60% chance. It’s a hard school to get in, but you are very well rounded and i think you have a chance of getting in. Btw I went there for summer college and its a really nice school!
BC- I think youll get in.
Colgate-good match

Penn (CAS, ED, legacy)-nice match. I’d peg at likely in.
Tufts- good app, match; bad app, reach
Bowdoin- reach
Boston College- high match
Carnegie Mellon- match
Hopkins- low reach
Colgate- match
Hamilton- match
Cornell- low reach
Middlebury- reach
