Should i retake SAT 2's? I should be getting 800's on M1 and M2. Chem is eh.
I retoke the ACT in Oct. so I'll be getting it back on Tues. I expect higher writing and reading and close to a 34.

Also, link me to your chance thread if you want me to chance back.

I’m not a student, but I would recommend that you schedule another SAT II outside the math area because many of the schools—especially the Ivies—will NOT allow both levels of math to count toward the 3 required subject tests.

Secondly, the legacy status will give you a huge boost, and you already know that, but try to shine in your essays, of course.

Third, I wish you luck when you receive your updated ACTs. It is hard to increase a composite score that is already in the 98th or 99th percentile.

GOOD LUCK!

I believe all Ivies require 2 SAT 2’s. The only school I know of that needs 3 is Georgetown and they said M1 would count toward filling that void. My brother got into all ivies except harvard with only M2 and Chem scores, maybe they changed their policy i’ll have to double check.

mlg is definitely all you should write about

jk legacy is very good for you + urm
sat 2: typically m1 and m2 are counted as the same, so pick one (math 2). also add another (as noted above) not in math/science

also, your uw gpa should not be 4.05 - convert it to a 4.0 scale

my bad. uw is 3.85 w is 4.05

That legacy is really good compounded with URM and what look to be pretty solid extracurriculars. The grades are a hair low, though, which can be a killer.
That said:
HPYS are a reach. They’re always a reach. Legacy status is good, but I’d hazard that they’re still within reach status. Maybe low reach.
Wharton / high reach
Cornell, Columbia, Brown / low reach
MIT / high reach
Duke / low reach

The rest are solidly within match range. I don’t know if you plan on applying to all of those, but you should get into most of them.

You seem very knowledgable, is there a reason you have wharton as a high reach? Are my ACT Scores average?

urm, good acts, good rank, good sat2s, numerous leaderships, good awards
one ap? im assuming that wasthe one of few offered during your junior year

if there are on blatant “bad” things on your apps then i would say you have a shot at the top schools

all i can say is you have extremely good chances at gw, nyu, uconn
with your stats alot of very good schools can be considred matches
schools like princeton are obviusly reaches

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1027381-chance-15-rd-schools-d.html</a></p>

Several friends of mine with excellent grades and ECs in general have been rejected from Wharton. I’ve held it as a more difficult choice since then.

Also, your ACT is okay, though that 28 in Reading is surprising. I’m more concerned about what seems to be a dearth of APs. Maybe I’m valuing them too highly because that’s all I’ve been doing for the last three years?

although you did not take the SAT 1 you stand a very good chance at most of the listed schools.pls chance my chances at berea by fredkay

This is a great resume. I think you’re set for GW, UConn and Texas, and USC/ND are high matches

the rest are reaches because they’re reaches for everybody

chance me back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1028124-chance-me-please-ill-100-chance-you-back-right-away.html</a></p>

thanks for the help. I got a 2150 on my SAT but I didn’t feel like I should show colleges that.

Also my school only offes 11 AP’s. You can’t take them during soph year and most science conflict with each otehr(same period) or you’re not allowed to take them until senior year.

Wow. That is a lot of schools. I think you’ve got a great shot at wharton (high match), Yale and Princeton are nearly matches, Cornell is a high match, as are Brown and Columbia. Being hispanic will be a huge boost for you, as will being a legacy. Good luck with your applications!

ED Penn- Wharton-- Reach to Low reach
Cornell-- Match
Harvard-- High reach
Yale-- Low reach (legacy)
Princeton-- Low reach (legacy)
Columbia-- Reach
Brown-- Match
Stanford-- High reach
Georgetown-- In
NYU-- In
MIT-- High reach
UConn-- Beyond in
Notre Dame-- In

A lot of these are reaches, but only because they’re reaches for everyone. They’re definitely in sight for you, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into two or more Ivys. Best of luck!

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1028143-please-chance-nervous-smith-college-ed-applicant-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Thanks, should I retake SAT 2’s/ ACT?

High target or low reach for Princeton and Yale, given that you’re a legacy.
Cornell, NYU, Brown, and Georgetown seem like targets for you. Notre Dame and UConn could be considered safeties. However, Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, MIT, and Brown seem like reaches (Especially, Harvard and Stanford)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1060375-what-my-chances.html</a></p>

You have a great application, especially with your URM and legacy status.

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1035638-help-out-nuerotic-junior-top-tiers-ill-chance-back-you-know-you-want.html</a></p>

It’s great to see another DECA student with high ambitions.

You’re a very active, well-rounded student. Factor in the URM status and legacy significance, and your chances are very high.

Good luck!
