Schools:

Cornell (CAS) -low reach

Harvard - Econ - All are high reaches for anyone. You have a very impressive resume,
but still know that no one is a lock at these schools.
Yale - Econ
Princeton - Econ
Columbia - Econ
Brown - Econ

Stanford - Econ

Georgetown - McDonough?
GW - Finance ?
NYU - Stern - low match
MIT - Sloan School of Management -high reach
USC - Finance - match, for a legacy no doubt.
Texas (Accepted) - McCombs (Nice, UT is a great school)

Notre Dame - Mendoza - high match
Duke - Trinity (Econ) low reach
UVA - CAS (Commerce) match

Hope this helps! Good luck to you. Please chance me. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1060951-chance-future-soldier.html</a></p>

bumpppp 10 char

What Army said. The Ivies and Stanford are never predictable. The rest are either low reaches or targets. Good luck.

Good application, but don’t put things like JV sports and honor roll on it, it will just look silly. Numbers are on par with Ivys, so you’re good there. And with the URM and legacy, you should have a well above average at a lot of those schools. Good luck.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1056376-chance-me-plz.html</a></p>

I disagree about the Jv sports because they are still time consuming. Any other chances?

looks like a solid application. the only thing is that your sat subject tests are on the low side which somewhat calls your academics abilities into question… especially since you declared your major in a math related field. however, that’s just one thing… i’d say you have a great shot at getting into one of HYPSM

Schools:

Cornell (CAS)
Harvard - Econ reach for anybody chance decides
Yale - Legacy+selectivity=much higher chance of getting into the harvard and slightly higher than princeton
Princeton - you have a slightly higher chance of getting into princeton than harvard because of your legacy
Columbia - Econ
Brown - Econ see hvd
Stanford - Econ see hvd
Georgetown - McDonough
GW - Finance certainly
NYU - Stern likely
MIT - Sloan School of Management chances similar to stanford
USC - Finance certainly
Notre Dame - Mendoza certainly
Duke - Trinity (Econ) likely
UVA - CAS (Commerce) certainly

You have a great set of stats, though I agree with completegraph. You also have some interesting ECs which will look great to admissions. I think you are good for all non-Ivies, and have a good chance for Duke. About Harvard and the Ivies - I agree with GoalBates. And I agree with you about JV sports. I did JV soccer for my first two years of high school and it took up so much time that I dropped it to pursue other interests. I hope admissions will see my reasoning for quitting. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1058297-could-i-get-into-middlebury.html</a></p>

I like your EC’s…I lol’d at the Halo, but hey, it totally stands out. I think you should put JV sports, they are a time commitment, and people have reasons for not continueing. You will probably get into at least a few reach schools!

Cornell- reach(ish)
Harvard – unpredictable (for anyone)
Yale – high reach
Princeton - reach
Columbia – reach (depends actually-I don’t know much about Columbia)
Brown - unpredictable
Stanford - unpredictable
Georgetown – high target/ reach
GW – easy in
NYU - likely
MIT – so competitive/ unpredictable
USC – easy in
Notre Dame - likely
Duke – so competitive/ unpredictable
UVA – easy in

Some Comments:

Let me start by saying you’re obviously a bright kid and deserve to get into many of these schools. But, you are by no means “extraordinary.” It’s hard to say if Harvard will be looking for an average kid (avg for Harvard) to fill the class- or another Mark Zuckerberg.

Your SAT IIs are very good. Your cumulative GPA is not spectacular. But, on the other hand, you’re doing very well this year, so that will help. But, I see that you don’t have too many AP classes (3 if I’m correct). And, although all your honors classes seem to be in math or finance-related classes, Ivy league schools of Yale and Harvard’s caliber want kids good at everything. I say that not as criticism- but just as a fact. I’m pretty much in the same boat as you.

I’m oriented towards the humanities/ politics and know nothing about econ-related extracurriculars, so I’m not qualified to comment on those (or really anything else on here haha). But, we’re similar in the sense that we’re good, competitive applicants but not the BEST out there.

Good luck to you and PLEASE chance back!

I’m not sure if you should have put this on. Nothing against videogames- I even play them myself (mainly starcraft2)- but could seem like a “waste” of time by adcoms. Colleges don’t want people who are going to be playing videogames tons, but rather interacting with their campus.

That said you are very qualified and upenn wharton is notoriously difficult to get into, so you have good chances at every school besides probably harvard/yale/princeton/mit.

Your GPA, Rank, ACT and SATIIs are on par, though not impressive for schools like HYPSM. Also your ECs are good, but rather generic and don’t really show a passion for business. Alot depends on your essay, which unfortunately seems quite standard too - sorry to say, but far too many write about deaths.

Cornell- reach
Harvard – high reach
Yale – high reach
Princeton - high reach
Columbia – reach
Brown - reach
Stanford - high reach
Georgetown – match/in
GW – in
NYU - match
MIT – high reach

Notre Dame - match
Duke – reach/high reach

You’re ACT, rank, and too few APs are the downfalls.

i agree with most of the above. those ivies are reaches for any applicant, although you may have a better chance because of your legacies. stanford is also difficult to know, but USC and NYU are likely, i think. good luck

chance me?

Compared to average hispanic applicant to these schools (what I’ve seen on CC), I thought I looked a lot better. So, I’m hoping my URM status at some of these ivies to come through.
I know stanford has a lot of hispanics, I only applied because I’m from Connecticut, so I don’t know how many applicants there would be from my state.
I thought my essay was very unique considering he was only 34(it’s not like I’m writing about a death in the family. I thought a death of a teacher would be a lot more memorable.)
Also, I linked halo to meeting people all around the world when I had interviews and they seemed really interested in that. Plus I made a good sum of money from it as well.

I’m surprised you were rejected from Wharton.

Cornell (CAS) - accepted most likely
Harvard -if it’s anything like Wharton, rejected
Yale - waitlist
Princeton - waitlist
Columbia - solid chance but still most likely rejected
Brown - probably in
Stanford - because you were rejected I would say unlikely
Georgetown - I don’t know enough about Georgetown

Notre Dame - In
Duke - borderline rejection
