I did cross country freshman and sophomore year. Same for badminton.

I'm currently working at Mervyns.

AP scores:
Comp Sci: 1 :x
English Language: 4

SAT scores: 1790

SAT scores: Haven't taken them yet.

What are my chances? :x

oh yeah, im planning to major in art... just including that in case if it might affect admissions

i also forgot to include that i'm co-founder of a local community service organization and i'm also the webmaster.

jeez, your scores are almost similar to mine (you beat me in GPA, i beat you in EC, SAT (slightly) and AP) and ill probably be applying to the same school. Man this is going to be stiff competition

They're all slight reaches, get your SAT score up and you'll have a good shot.

UCSD is deff a reach to large reach. SATs for UCSD admits are almost 1950 and GPA averages are 4.06. Its not gonna happen. Focus on trying to get into a mid tier UC's like UCI/UCSB/UCD and keep the lower tier UC's like UCSC/UCR/UCM as your safe matches. UCI/UCSB/UCD are gonna be tough too, but i think you atleast got a shot at them if you get your SAT scores up significantly. I wouldn focus on them and probably forget about UCSD/UCLA/UC Berkeley, as they dont seem realistic. Here are the freshman admit profiles for the UC schools this year. It should give you a better idea of your chances.

thanks everyone. im pretty sure i can break 2000 because i have room for improvement on critical reading. i'm pretty sure i can boost my CR by 150 points and writing 100 (i got 600 on the actual SAT's but lately i've been getting 700+ on practice tests from a few different sources including the official SAT book).

i'd like to see opinions from more people, so anyone that can, CHANCE ME!!!

bump bump bump

shrinky:

uci: reach
ucsb: reach/slight reach
ucsd: reach

look towards: ucsc, ucr, ucm, and states

im assuming you live in california? yeah soo...you really need to get ur sats up. thats all u can really do right now. aim for over 2000 but that would still make ucsd a reach i think....MAYBE ucsb and uci. push your sat to 2100...

if SAT I can go up to 2000, then in at UCI and UCSB. UCSD would be a good chance if you live in CA

However, w/ 1700ish SATs, err maybe UCI? UCSB? UCSD is a big reach right now.

Your UC GPA is 3.4545. Current SAT I is 1790. You've taken two Calif community college courses with Bs in both of them. You ECs are fairly minimal, although the volunteer work is good and helps you at these schools.

UCSD--Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD--Slight Reach
UCSC--Match to Slight Reach (much closer to Match)
UCR--Match
UCM--Safety

Even with a 2000 SAT I you would only be about 50-50 at UCI and UCSB. If you could also get two SAT II scores of 650-700, then you would be match for these two schools. None of these scores will get you into UCSD.

thanks. if anyone else has anymore opinions and such, add them please. including more tips as to what i should do to get into the listed colleges.
