Competitive GPA but you need to calculate your UC/CSU GPA: <a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Based on your above Stats, your ACT/SAT will hurt your chances at all the UC’s. You need closer to a 1900+/27+ or higher to be competitive.

UCSD: Reach
UCI/UCSB: Low Reach
Cal Poly Pomona: Match

You should consider retaking either ACT/SAT and consider some other schools such as UCR/UCSC.

I agree, your test scores are light for those UCs. CPP, SDSU and maybe UCR are viable options.

What about ucsb or uci?

Average ACT/SAT for UCI & UCSB:
UCI: 27/1890
UCSB: 29/1925

You are below average in test scores and to be competitive for Engineering, you need to be above the averages. If you get accepted, it may be undeclared and you will have a difficult time changing majors.

Do you think my ec’s are weak?

EC’s are average. Nothing stands out. The UC’s are more about GPA and test scores although outstanding EC’s and essays can give you a boost.

If you really want to go to UC schools consider UC merced and UCR.

Your SAT score is way below average for UCSB /UCSD / UCI. Like @paul2752‌ said, you should consider UCM/UCR/UCSC. If you write amazing essays, you can shoot for UCI and UCSB.
