Chance me at UCSD, UCSB, UCD, UCLA

Weighted GPA: 4.01
Unweighted: Have to check that
Full IB diploma student, 5 years of science within 4 years of high school (IB Chem and IB Physics are the IB ones).

UCSD is my top choice, UCD and UCSB would be my second choices, and UCLA is my reach, but I'd like your guys' opinion. So far I've taken the IB Chem exam and got a 5. And AP Euro and got a 4.

SAT I: 1620 (yes I know) and retaking it in December, aiming for a 2000
SAT II: taking Chem and Math II in November.

My planned major is biochemistry.
I just finished writing my personal statements, and I have to say I think they're brilliant, as I've been told by my IB English teacher.

EC's: I'm about to get my Eagle Scout, and I've been doing scouts since I was 6. I also started a non profit organization for my school to help the homeless people in my community. I was a language mentor for students from Abu Dabai and at local university and got sociology credit for that. I did soccer for 2 years of high school, then had to quit from an injured ankle. And I've also done my CAS project which counts for numerous amounts of volunteer work (for IB diploma) and I'm doing an eagle project as well.

So yeah, tell me what I need to do to try and secure a spot at UCSD since it's my top choice, I really appreciate it!

Did you try the ACT?

Additionally, do you know what your UC GPA is? What ratings I give are purely provisional and assumes an UC GPA of 4.01.

UCSD: Reach (at 1620)/High match (at 2000)
UCLA: Reach (even at 2000)
UCSB: High match (at 1620)/Low match (at 2000)
UCD: reach (at 1620)/Match (at 2000)

Bump…

I haven’t calculated my UC gpa yet. And that’s strange, everyone is telling me different answers than you are…I’m in 10% of my class and I’m taking the hardest curriculum my high school has ever seen

OH and I forgot! I’m a teen health advocate and a local teen clinic, so I help other teens with birth control etc. forgot about that!

Your chances are pretty low because of your SAT score, but if you raise it to 2000, your chances will greatly increase because your GPA, rank, course rigor, and ECs are pretty solid.

With 1620:
UCSB - Low Reach
UCD - Low Reach
UCSD - Reach
UCLA - High Reach

With 2000:
UCSB - Match
UCD - Match
UCSD - High Match/Low Reach
UCLA - Reach

Bump please I need more info on what to do to make UCSD a match

And my personal statement is VERY GOOD, best thing I have ever written

bump that sat to 1800 and you’re good to go for sb and davis.
for SD, 1900+ would be good.

Definitely what I was thinking. I’m trying for SD so I want at least a 2000.

Are there test-optional schools you might like?

Hmmm maybe Cal Poly SLO? Or do they want test scores? But I really really want UCSD, at least the San Diego area…

Bump bump pleeeassee

Can I please get some more :(

UCSD is a reach. Is 4.01 your UC GPA?

Yes it is. I don’t see how UCSD would be a reach…everyone like all of my teachers is telling me it’s not. Theoretically if my SAT was up to 2000, what would my chances be then?

1620 is too low for UCSD. Way below ave. You may even be waitlisted at UCD, UCI & UCSB.

You’re not getting my point. My SAT scores are NOT going to be 1620…I told you I’m predicting a 2000 and I know I’ll achieve that. So, I want to know, with a 2000, what are my chances

I know a guy who got waitlisted for UCSD with 2070/3.9GPA and accepted.
I know a girl who got rejected for UCSD with 2070/3.6GPA

all are reaches except UCSB is a high match
Get an 1800 and your chance for UCSB and UCD are matches
1900 and UCSD is a match
