I converted these GPA according to the GPA system (out of 100 points) in Georgia High school that i'm going to attend:

Unweighted - 89.103
Weighted - 93.931

As you can see, I'm mostly a B+ student.

I just too my first SAT last Saturday, so i just want some advice for now based on my GPA and my grades that i got.

Am i in good shape for Georgia Tech, UGA and GSU?
I'll appreciate so much for your advice!

GT- borderline.
UGA-most probably.
GSU-Definitely.

Since you are a junior…work hard on SAT or ACT. Take them both and see where your strengths are and take that particular test again and again. (well not more than 3 times). Good Luck!

Hm…I have better grades than you and I got waitlisted to GA Tech. I got into UGA EA though. It really depends on your SAT score for UGA EA. You can definitely get into UGA EA with your GPA however. I’m sure you can get into UGA regular if you scored above an 1850 on the SAT. GSU without a doubt, you will get in.

Anyone else please?

I think you are defenitely in at GSU
UGA and GT are possibilities.

I don’t know much about GT stats, but UGA’s big three are rigor, GPA, and test scores.
You obviously have the rigor, GPA is decent, and i don’t know about your scores.

I reccomend on trying your best to get strong test scores, since that can seriously help you. Also, I would try and get strong reccomendations, and write great essays. Plus in the additional information box, mention that you moved. Never hurts to do that. With that, I think you might get in :)

And if you don’t mind me asking, what area of GA are you moving to? That sometimes has an impact on admissions as well.

Of course you can get in, but don’t cry when you don’t see a scholarship.

I don’t know much about applying to GA Tech–since my son didn’t apply. But every student that got in from our school had one or two years of AP Calculus. So if you are serious about applying to GA Tech, I would recommend that you take at least AB next year and do well on the exam.

Annabananna:

I’m probably moving to Mcintosh high school, and i think its located in peachtree.
I’ve heard that school is really competitive but we’ll see…

Helpfulandtrying:

Thank you for your advice. I’m going to take calculus AB and BC in my senior year, along with Physics AP.

BTW guys

I got a 1870 on my first SAT…
Reading 540
Math-720
Writing-610

I know it sucks, but I’m going to take it 3 more times, and i’m aiming for at least 2100.

And im planning to take ACT and SAT II math, physics

After what happened yesterday, with me being accepted over people who scored over 2200 on the SAT, absolutely anything can happen

bump!!!
