REALLY INTERESTED IN WRITING PROGRAM - ONLY PUBLIC PLACE OFFERING IT IN NEW ENGLAND!

So, my chances? And any idea about out-of-state aid?

I would say your chances are excellent! My D will be a freshman there this fall (we are also OOS)… and comparing her aid offer at URI with other schools - it is a pretty good package.

My final SAT score is a 1950. (600 reading, 660 math, 690 writing)

Change anything?

Oh, and does it still live up to the URHigh nickname? I just really don’t want to be in a 24/7 “wasted” environment.

You’re in.

I’ve heard URI is a huge party/drug school as well, which is a major turn off. But I’m not going to pass any judgement until I can visit and see for myself.

I just came back from the information session - make sure you apply before December 1 and the average SAT score is usually in the low 2000s.

^ I just came back from the information session, too, and they did not say the average SAT score was in the low 2000s. But yes, you need to apply by Dec. 1 to get merit scholarships.
