i have a low gpa compared to the majority of freshmen accepted to sc (3.4) and i haven’t taken the sat/act but i’m planning to take both in october, freshmen and soph year i had a 3.7 but junior year was the worst year for me and dropped my gpa to what it is now, and i know colleges look at junior year the most so that really worries me bc i had 3 Cs both semesters but i was involved in a lot of things throughout my hs career especially junior year i had a lot going on at school and outside of school can that maybe help my chances?? ik it’s a big reach but i just wanna know if i have a chance if i make my application unique regardless of numbers
@brckhmptn - No sugar coating - even with a hook you are looking at a steep climb. My suggestion, do everything you can to perform well on the SAT/ACT. Then, focus on the essays. The middle 50% GPA range is 3.77-4.0 for last years admitted students. That puts you in the bottom 25% category. While not impossible, it will be a challenge without any other help. So, yes, there’s a chance.
